I am trying to center the base of my 1617 router, using the bosch centering cone. Problem is the release knob is in the way. How do I center it?

Hi! The centering cone should be applied from the bottom of the router where it would come in contact with the bottom piece of the template guide adapter (opposite the release knob). I have a set of brass template guide bushings and a bosch 1617evs router. is this product all i need to use the brass bushings? i'm so confused.

With the included adapter it will work with brass template guides held in place with the threaded collar the should have come with your templates. With the adapter removed it uses the Bosch templates. I have only used this with the plunge base, not sure if it will mount in the fixed base.
