I stitched them together long ways to create a unique ridge beam in my family room. I needed them to be spot on in terms of alignment and diameter. They were and I couldn’t be happier. I will use these for table or furniture legs as well because they are of furniture building quality. Good buy.

The photo depicts a solid dowel that they call a Quality Dowel. The product received was a dowel cut from laminated and finger jointed 1 inch boards. I have purchased a lot of these from others listed on amazon and figured this would be a industry standard but this one was the lowest quality I have seen. If you are wanting a dowel that looks good like the one pictured in the listing product photos this is not the one for you.

If you like woodworking from scratch these dowels will give you a great start.

I ordered these 3 inch dowels as part of a project I am working on for a client. I attempted to make my own first using a large router bit, with less than perfect results. My client wants really high quality pieces. I was able to make 17 out of 18 shapes they wanted, but needed a better result for the three foot pole. Woodpecker delivered that better result. After attempting to make my own, I can appreciate the cost they charge for each dowel. For me it was very much worth it.

I ordered this thinking coming in 3X 36” I’ve should have read reviews before . It only comes in one NOT 3X 36” Just to be clear only one. So I had to order more. I though it was kinda sneaky way to right the description of the item.

The picture implies more than one dowel. Only one was received. Way too expensive for one dowel.

Love the quality & fast shipping. I used these 3 inch dowels to make 1-1/2 inch quarter rounds to replace rotted porch moldings, moldings I could not find anywhere, even lumber yards.

The dowel I received from Woodpeckers was not made from ash (think baseball bat) as indicated by the seller, but rather the much softer poplar (think interior trim work). It was also not turned from one solid piece of wood as pictured, but rather 3 boards that were glued together. It might still be fine for some application, but also should cost $15 and not 4 times that.
