Excellent feeling budget 96% and a solid upgrade over my last
Genuinely the nicest prebuilt 96% at this price range. The keyboard sounds great thanks to the silicone and foam dampening inside, the screen looks great, and the knob feels smooth and nice. The keycaps although not to my visual preference are incredibly nice quality. The keyboard was heavier than I expected for a plastic case, but this is a good thing. doesn't vibrate on my desk at all while I'm typing. this is entirely free from any hollow sound, so I don't feel like I need to tape mod it, but if I did, the keyboard literally comes with a tool to open it up, so it's very mod-friendly. This is a mainstay for my desk. The linear switches are quite creamy with the keycaps that are bundled with it. I have no problem with any kind of input lag or having to double back on myself from ghosting that would otherwise hurt my WPM. The keyboard is incredibly easy to set up too, with a link to the software on the store page, and the ability to just plug it in and go if you don't wanna mess around with that. Has 3 different Bluetooth modes which allow you to connect it to 3 different devices to swap between, has a wired mode, and a wireless dongle, and appears to have a USB A port on the back, presumably a passthrough. I would highly recommend this keyboard.

Great keyboard, great value
It used to be that keyboards this good were only available if you paid hundreds of dollars and waited a year for all the group buy parts to arrive so you could assemble them yourself. Now, for a hundred bucks, you get a really solid keyboard with excellect switches and an LCD screen with a rotary knob. It's a great time to be a keyboard enthusiast. Switches - Very nice, but a little light for my taste since I have big hands and fat fingers. However, since this is a hot-swap PCB, I have some heavier linears on the way and it will be a piece of cake to swap them out. The sound of the stock switches is great, and the included stabilizers haven't produced a lot of rattle but they aren't perfect. The included keycaps are double shot PBT and feel nice and solid. Build - Very solid. The board has almost no flex to it, and while it's not as heavy as something made out of solid aluminum it doesn't feel like any other plastic board I've ever used. It's not crazy heavy, but it does a good job of staying put on my desk mat, even with the feet out to adjust the typing angle to my liking. Battery - Meets my needs. I use this for work, 40 hours a week, and after 3 days of using it I'm only down to 72% battery life. It looks like I'll only have to charge it every other week, but keep in mind that I don't like a lot of RGB unicorn puke all over my keyboard, so I only have it flashing a quick pop of color whenever I press a key. Since the RGB is off unless I'm actually typing, I know that that's heavily contributing to the battery longevity. The more RGB lighting you use and the brighter you make it, the more likely you'll be to have to charge the battery every 2 or 3 days. Screen - Useful enough that I haven't had to plug this into my computer and run the software to customize anything. I can set my RGB, change between Win/Mac, and pair to multiple bluetooth devices all by using the screen and rotary knob. Very useful, especially since I can't install any proprietary software on my work computer. I will say that the included clock is a little fast, usually gaining about 7 seconds a day from what I can tell, so if you're really picky about all of your clocks being accurate you'll need to fix the time once a week or so. Overall I'm really happy with this purchase, and if you're here and looking at this review you should probably buy it.

Best keyboard EVER!
I have been trying to be cheap all these years buying the knock off mechanical keyboards, but then I saw this and decided to splurge a little bit since someone gave me a gift card to help cut down some of the cost. Honestly...I am floored by this keyboard and feel like I should have paid full price long ago to get this!! The sound of the typing of each key....omg....pure heaven. As I type on this, I am loving each click as it goes. The videos people have here give you a little bit of an idea but still don't do it justice. You need to see and feel and hear it in person. The color is awesome. I went for the blueish colored keyboard and absolutely loving it and how it looks with the lights off. Speaking of lights, the lights on this keyboard are awesome. Now, keep in mind that the lights will not light up each key so you can see better in the dark. But the lights are more for showing off and having a little light show on your desk. And there are so many customization options to choose from for the light shows. If I remember correctly, there are 12 to pick from on the keyboard itself but there are so many customizations with different lights to pick from, either one color or using all colors of the rainbow to light up. Not to mention you can control the speed and the brightness of it, which is a bonus. I really particularly like the ones where each key lights up as you type. It is so cool. The gif feature is so AWESOME! Find any gif you want online (try Giphy for a wide selection to choose from) and nearly any of them can work here. I didn't see the instructions include it, but you will need a program on your computer (only for Windows, don't think it's available for Linux or macOS) called RK Keyboard and that program not only lets you change the gif but also change colors, update the software, and update the firmware of the keyboard all in the one suite. The program will let you crop the gif any way you'd like to ensure it will fit on the keyboard as you'd like it. Another thing I like about the gif option (as well as other settings of the keyboard) is that it stays with the keyboard even if you switch to another computer. So for those of you sad you can't get RK Keyboard on your Mac or Linux computer, you can load that up on a Windows computer and make your settings and then move it over to your other computer and the settings stay! I am loving the choice of options when it comes to the connectivity of this keyboard. Being able to connect directly over USB type C is great. The cable they give you in the box is also great because it can connect to your computer over USB type C or USB type A using an adapter that is on the cable itself. Not only that, if you happen to lose or damage this cable, I can confirm that any other USB type C cable that charges and syncs will work with this keyboard! Also, I didn't know this until I got the keyboard, but this also has its own USB type A port so you can have another device plugged into your keyboard that will go to your computer! Great for if you have a wired mouse and want to easily have the two on your desk or if you want to hook up your phone on the fly or a gamepad...I loved that option tonight because it meant I could charge my phone and gamepad and never had to kneel down to get to my computer that was on the floor. Also, it's great having the option for Bluetooth and 2.4 wireless instead of being wired all the time. They handled this so well because you can have 3 profiles for 3 different Bluetooth devices and easily change between them using the dial knob so you don't have to go and forget devices and resync and all that. And the 2.4 option....thank you, RK. They actually made a slot for this so you won't easily lose it. It magnetizes the USB type A dongle into the keyboard so you will be less likely to lose it. And I love the screen. Having the ability to have two different places, one as a light up by the ESC key and another in the digital window is so awesome so I can see when Caps lock has been enabled. The volume knob is so satisfying to use too. My only complaint there is that it can't read your computer's volume, so, like on startup, if the computer's volume is set to 100 and you go to turn down the volume using the keyboard dial, the dial starts at 0. So you'll still need to see the volume on the computer screen to know where it is at unless you want to go to the hassle of always moving it way up on startup. Another great thing about the wireless options is that this keyboard automatically turns itself off when not in use to preserve battery. Also, the battery is charged by the USB type C port, which is a huge plus. The material feels very nice. The keys feel nice to type along and so smooth. Though, I expect this to go away with more use as time goes on, as is usual with keys. So far it's been holding up well over about 3 weeks of usage and even carrying it with me with no case. All in all...I love this keyboard and highly recommend it.

Nice functional keyboard for home office use
Let me start by saying I am not a gamer and I didn't buy this for the gaming features. That will become evident as you read on! I had my last Logitech keyboard for 5 years and if it was not for the fading keys and subsequent attempts to put stickers over them which all eventually got icky (technical term) and loose for the 2nd time, I would not have bought another keyboard. After much research the first replacement I bought (another manufacturer) came assembled but not quite because you had to change some keys if you were on Windows. After having confirmed it would come assembled, that unnerved me. Never changed a key and didn't want to break the keyboard from the get go. Had to use a magnifier for the directions. Nice board, nice colors, nice feel but not going to work out. So I returned it. Then I decided on this Royal Kludge RK-S98 keyboard. I hesitated because of too much white in the coloring but I was super happy to unbox it, plug the dongle into my computer, it paired right away and I could start typing immediately. I did have to refer to the instructions which I could read without a magnifier to set the clock and turn off the irritating color lights (I know gamers have to be rolling their eyes now if they kept reading my review this far lol ) but other than that everything is self explanatory. It is "missing" a few keys from my old keyboard like "end" but you do function PgDn key and you are at the end. And the front side of the key even says "End" so if you don't remember, it's right there. By the way, the colors really are beautiful if you want a backlit light show and you can adjust them easily. I found this out while finding out how to turn them off completely. The keys are double shot PBT which is supposed to be very effective preventing the letters and numbers from wearing off. Since that was my biggest issue with the Logitech, it was a very important factor in purchasing this one. The sound is nice. It is clicky but not obnoxious. It's easy and a nice sound and there is a Caps Lock Lit indicator which I have missed sorely since I got my last keyboard. But if you want to turn off those lights too you can. I almost forgot to add that there is a hard plastic clear dust cover. I've never seen that before and I do plan to use it. I wish I understood how to get a gif on the screen instead of the clock since my clock is already on my monitor but maybe someday I will play with it. Overall, I am super happy with this. I'll edit my review if things go south but I'm pretty sure this keyboard is home to stay.

Updated Review
Updated Review: Royal Kludge has offered me a full refund on the keyboard. I am extremely pleasantly surprised. Clearly they stand by their products! I'll probably buy another Royal Kludge keyboard now that I know that their customer service is so great. I'm thinking that my bad experience was a fluke and that's why I was given a refund. This keyboard is definitely worth the price, especially when the company is so great to work with. Original review: I bought this keyboard around 7 months ago but didn't start using it daily until 3 months ago. In the beginning, the keyboard was perfect - great size, wonderful sound and feel, useful little screen to display the time and gift, responsive volume knob. Then after about a month, the keyboard seemed to randomly forget what I programmed the keys to do. I'd have to connect it to the app on my PC to fix it a couple times a week. Then it was happening every time I turned off the keyboard, and the app wasn't cutting it - I'd have to reset the keyboard and remap the keys. I don't do a lot of complicated stuff so these weren't deal breakers for me - it may be for others. The biggest issue came up a couple weeks ago - I turned on the keyboard for work and the screen was just a mess of lines and the volume knob wasn't responding. Being outside of my return window with Amazon, I reached out to the manufacturer. They tried very hard to be helpful, but they couldn't identify the problem. During the first few days of our back and forth, the keyboard rapidly declined - the screen turned black, wireless connectivity was gone, keyboard wouldn't hold a charge, and finally my computer stopped recognizing there was a keyboard connected at all. Royal Kludge was apologetic but their hands were apparently tied. I was offered a $6 voucher. $100+ for a keyboard that failed in under a year, and I was offered $6 toward a new keyboard. My experience may be a fluke, since this product is very highly rated. Just keep in mind that Royal Kludge may not be able to help if something goes wrong.

Good quality keyboard, with one flaw.
Let me start off with the good parts. This keyboard is great, it's heavy, doesn't feel cheap, they switches feel nice and it seems to be very well padded because they don't sound too "clacky", you definitely get a nice "thock" for a factory assembled keyboard. Bear in mind this isn't a $1000 custom built keyboard, so don't expect perfection, I'm just saying for the price you get a lot more than with the big names. The wireless dongle works great as well, I use it pretty regularly, and haven't had any complaints, the lighting also looks nice. I didn't install the software because I don't really want to, but the built in RGB settings work well enough. Now onto my one complaint....it is next to impossible to set the clock on this thing and have it stay accurate. In fact I think it is too fast in general. I've tried numerous times and it always gets ahead, increasing minute by minute as the weeks go by. I did it a month ago, timing it with my computer's clock as close as possible on the seconds and minutes, now a month later it is almost 7 minutes ahead. There should be an option or driver to sync with the Windows reported time. I know the clock can be replaced by a .gif or whatever, but I prefer the look of the clock. Anyway that's really my biggest complaint. Overall it is a pretty good board, and while it lacks a polished software suite like the big names, I'm perfectly okay without that stuff in exchange for a higher quality feeling keyboard.

Well worth the price!
Incredible keyboard. Build quality is great. Keys are very responsive. Personally love the click sound and the light up options. But if you are nervous about making a lot of noise in a quieter office setting, this may not be the keyboard for you. Battery life is great and connection options are plentiful. Price is a little high but honestly well worth it given the quality of the keyboard.

Fantastic Sound and Functionality with Minor Drawbacks - Bought 2
I absolutely love this Mechanical Keyboard! The sound it produces is fantastic and adds a satisfying typing experience. The keyboard performs superbly with its smart display, various connectivity options (BT/2.4G/USB-C), and hot-swappable keys. The massive battery life is a definite plus, and the 98 keys offer excellent versatility. I actually swapped the keys out and it looks amazing! However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks. The screen on the right side feels somewhat like a cheap watch display, and there aren’t many customization options available. I’ve seen reviews mentioning issues with the keyboard stopping working after a few weeks, but so far, I haven’t experienced this issue. I’m taking good care of it and have it plugged in 24/7 without any problems so far. I actually bought two of them because they were on sale, one for me and one for my wife! My wife loves it as well and just loves the sounds probably more than I do! But I'll update this review if one of the keyboards stops working! One more thing—I wish there were more color options available, but since I love purple, it’s not a major concern for me. Overall, it's a great keyboard that delivers impressive performance and sound!

Cool, sounds pleasing and looks great too!
Awesome touch with the ability to upload GIFs onto the little display screen! Just be weary that the software that you have to source yourself for the KB controls is a little funny, albeit, fully functional. If you want to be able to fully customise everything without connection issues, unplug your BT dongle first, wire the KB up and then you can change stuff in the software. Beautiful design, awesome keyboard!

Sound and Build
the sound is a bit louder and clicker than i expected but as a keyboard it feels very good the build quality doesn't feel cheap and it doesn't move easily either overall a very good keyboard but it is not my type of keyboard only because of the sound. Outside of that i don't see issues with it
