Meet two friends at the beach this summer in this charming seaside story from the brilliant Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks, creators of What the Ladybird Heard . With funny rhyming verse, bright and distinctive illustrations, Sharing a Shell is loved by children and parents alike – perfect for reading together! Ideal for keeping kids busy during the summer, it’s the ultimate boredom-busting companion for quiet time at home or on the go. When Crab finds a new shell, he doesn't want to share it with anyone – especially not a blobby purple anemone and a tickly bristleworm. But life in the rock pool proves tougher than Crab thinks and he soon finds he needs his new housemates. ‘Sunny story . . . clear characterful pictures and jolly verse for reading out loud’ - Independent Discover more picture books from Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks, the bestselling team behind the What the Ladybird Heard adventures: Sugarlump and the Unicorn, The Singing Mermaid and The Princess and the Wizard. No glitter
Fabulous story and art work but sad to see the new copies don’t have any sparkley glitter on them. Bought this for my nostalgic daughter who’s birthday is coming up. Big surprise and I’m so excited myself.

3 Little Friends as Different as Could Be
One of my personal favourites by JD & being illustrated by LM, this book is zo so charming. As for the young readers, it is intended for pre-schoolers, younger school children, and, let's face it, this is the age when details around them make their lives. This is why you will often find your child fascinated by wee tiny creatures and all things unnoticed or actively ignored by adults. This book features 3 tiny friends going through turmoils of life together, and what a nice way they choose to go about it. It touches upon a lot of subjects in such a light and reassuring way that your little one is bound to live this book. Whether the child prefers company of others or enjoys being on their own, this little masterpiece will resonate with them, as they still learn about the collaboration with other from a safe distance or by hurling-burling in the action. If you are familiar with Lydia's illustrations, she has an absolutely charming way of capturing the essence and delivering it in a way that looks fascinating and appealing to both the young and older. As to Julia's rhymes, this books ranks amongst top 10 in my opinion. If you ask me, a must have.

A beautiful book with a lovely sentiment
My baby (10 months old) loves this book and I love reading it to him! It’s a lovely sentiment about not being too proud to admit you’re wrong, which I know will be a great message to teach my son when he’s older. For now, he loves touching the glittery textured pages which are beautifully illustrated and really bright and colourful. I love the rhyming couplets too.

Lovely book about sharing
This is a wonderful picture book. My 3 children love the story and the glittery pictures. The story tells about sharing, which is great for my kids - this is an attribute they can really learn since they are fighting over stuff all the time. It is also a story about friendship and teamwork. Altogether, a great book.

Charming Picture Book
I can honestly say that I have yet to read a bad Julia Donaldson book. Sharing a Shell is the charming story of a tiny hermit crab, reluctant to share his beautiful new shell. Julia Donaldson's rhythmic writing makes this story easy to read and remember, perfect for sharing with little ones. Sharing a Shell is a charming book with a great message. Bound to become a family favorite.
