When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She'll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths. Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose-to assassinate his boss's enemies,no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he's offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach. As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City's underbelly, they're plunged into the fight of a lifetime, making them question everything they thought they knew. With a sizzling romance at its heart and surprises at every turn, the #1 bestselling Crescent City series has captivated readers everywhere with its exploration of loss, power, and love. This collection includes: House of Earth and Blood House of Sky and Breath House of Flame and Shadow Review: Another SJM masterpiece. - After reading sarah maas’s other books, I went into crescent city with pretty high expectations, and somehow she still managed to pull me into another completely different world. The beginning took me a little while to get into because there is SO much world-building and information thrown at you. Bryce quickly became one of my favorite SJM characters. I loved her personality, her strength, her friendships, and especially the way her grief and vulnerability were woven into the story. And then there’s her relationship with Hunt. The tension between them had me invested, but I also really loved how their relationship developed beyond just the romance. The mystery, the politics, the different houses, the angels, the shifters, the twists. There was a lot happening, but it all made the story feel so immersive. I genuinely sat there for a minute trying to process everything that happened at the end. Since I read SJM’s other books first, I noticed some familiar elements and storytelling choices, but Crescent City still felt like its own thing. It was a slower start for me than her others but once it gets going, its fantastic. Review: Good series, great boxed set - I don't know why they're selling boxed sets of unfinished series, but this one is a lovely set. I bought it because the third book had just released and cost over half the price of the boxed set, so I figured it was a good deal. The set is a lovely hardback edition of the Crescent City series so far. Read on for a review of the books included. This is the first SJM series I've read in which the first book was great. In both ACOTAR and ToG, the first book was the weakest, even though the series as a whole ended up being good. I was prepared to endure another slog, but Crescent City hits the ground running. This is an urban fantasy, so they have modern technology and magic. I joked about the first book being a buddy cop show with wings, but it's very cozy and easy to read. I'm not a fan of mixing angels and demons with fae and aliens, but somehow, they're all here, and the books are still good. The books aren't ToG. They probably won't live in your head for the rest of time and make you cry every time you think about Thirteen or closing gates. Still, there are some very memorable scenes that manage to be both high-stakes and hilarious. (And you'll find out what three things Ruhn Danaan knows.) And there is a crossover with ACOTAR. I can't tell you without spoiling it, but it is worth continuing when CC starts to slow down. The crossover honestly changed how I felt about some of the ACOTAR characters, and I'm not entirely sure I'll see them the same again.

5 ⭐️ read for me! Light it up!!
This box set was absolutely perfect! The series is one of my favorite reads of this year. In true SJM fashion it takes about 1/2-3/4 of the way through the first book to really start to get good and suck you in but once it does it’s just as captivating as her other two series. The character growth you get to witness through this series is really just fantastic and the type of character development that makes for a surprisingly satisfying reading experience by the end of the story. A bit different than her other series as far as the settings go. It is an urban fantasy which blends elements of traditional fantasy books like magic and mythical creatures with current and even futuristic technology but she does so in a way that just feels natural and that’s something I haven’t experienced very often in other books I’ve read so it was a nice surprise. It wasn’t off-putting or clunky the way it has felt for me to read in other books either so even if that’s not really your thing I wouldn’t let it steal you away from giving this series a try!

Ink
My only problem with this bookset is comical and not really a problem, but as O progressed through the first book, I noted three words where the ink blurred away like it didnt take to the paper properly. It was still readable, but very noticeable. The second book had around five. I haven't finished the tally on the third book yet but its at least six words that the ink yielded improperly and its hilarious. It feels like this set was printed in order and the ink was just so slowly running out. I absolutely love it, it tells its own story. One star docked because the lore dump and world building in the first book dragged on for so long I skipped a couple pages, but all around a worthy purchase.

Excellent Quality & Great Value
These are the paper back books in a box set (meaning they all match and come in a hard cover box) and they are amazing! So far the quality has been excellent, the books are so interesting, and being paperback makes it easier to hold and read. Great value for the entire set!

Must read!
If you have read the other 2 series from this author, this might give you a little whiplash, but I urge you to give this series a serious chance! I absolutely loved it!!!!

Brilliant
The Crescent City Books were beyond any fantasy writing I've ever read. I have never felt so pulled into an other world like I felt in these books. Maas made me care deeply about main character, secondary characters, as well as third and fourth stage characters. The plots and subplot were supremely written. Take the plunge you will live the deep waters and the shallows of thus series. Enjoy

Fantastiskt!
Så fantastiska böcker. Mer komplext världsbyggande än i författarens andra serier.
