Very good, low price, tons of power
Very powerful and small esc. It is not waterproof but the circuit boards inside can be waterproofed with some conformal coating. Runs well with no heat issues on 2s and a 4600kv motor in a clodbuster (two brushless systems) but it sucks the battery down fast. I get about 5 minutes of runtime with that truck and itโs geared moderately (16 tooth pinions and JC Renegade tires). The esc does not have the option to reverse its motor direction via any settings, so if youโre running sensorless you can just swap any 2 motor wires. If youโre running sensored and need to reverse the motor direction (such as the rear of a clodbuster), run the wires esc-to-motor like: a-b b-c c-a and you must run the sensor wire to trick the esc into running the motor how you like (backwards orientation). If the sensor wire then becomes unplugged, the motor will rotate the opposite direction you want it. Overall the esc is a 9/10, it just lacks some adjustability (especially compared to castle). Definitely pick up the Hobbywing program Card to adjust the settings since the quicrun line of esc arenโt compatible with the Hobbywing computer tuning software.

brushless upgrade on 144001 with 10.5T motor (sensored)
using a 10.5 turn motor and the proper sensor wire (in black) going to this ESC. even with a fully charged battery, the starting force (punch) had to be set to lowest (1) on the programming card or else it would stall and brown-out. this could be because I'm using stock pinion from 144001 (not the 144010 that is meant for brushless). this will give me higher top speed, and I'm hoping the sensor-based feedback loop will not cog at low rpm. so far, it seems quite smooth at low rpm and fast at high. very controllable. I did have a car run-away event and still debugging that. my thought is that I ran the esc control wires too close to the thick motor wires and the high speed and high current of the motor wires were picked up and confused the esc. to solve it, I rerouted the critical wires. I guess it matters. after that, so far it seems ok but I need to test it more. I bought a 4.5t motor but that's not going to be used. this esc is fine with 10.5t and that's about as much as this low end chassis can take (stock 144001). going faster is pointless; car will not handle it. got 'lucky' that the sensor wire and abc wire combo worked to move the car in the right dir. when you go sensor-based on the motor, you CANNOT swap 2 wires on the motor to change dir. you'd have to swap 2 on the sensor cable, too and that's a hassle. for my standard build, the default rotation was correct and my ESC does not support reversal. all worked out fine.

Best ESC under $60
Strong and durable 3s ESC , can be used with both Sensored and Sensorless Brushless motors. It comes with decals zip ties and sticky tape. You will need to know how to solder so you can add your motor connections. The wires are 12g and very long so I recommend to cut them to size. I haven't had any issues out of this ESC it's very strong has plenty of power. 120 amp / 750 amp max 3s lipo. I have it installed in a Arrma Big rock with a 4276 2200kv surpass hobby rocket. Motor don't get hot and esc stays cool. It's most definitely worth the $$ easily the best ESC under 60 bucks. Only down side is it's not water proof.... Which Hobby wing should have made it waterproof... So if you want it n need it to be water proof you'll need the electronics waterproofing spray. And do it yourself..

GREAT ESC !!!
So i fried my Traxxas VXL ESC because it was constantly overheating with my bigger tire setup w my rustler. So i gave this ESC a shot. It came in with pretty nice packaging. All the connections come with open end wires so you are REQUIRED to solder your choice of battery connector and solder the motor wires. It was my first time soldering but it came out pretty good. Today i ran though 2 2S Batteries nonstop and the esc was cold to the touch , not a single sign of heat. The car felt great and responding with good amount of Power. It felt better for some reason. Im super happy with the ESC so far for the price. It also comes with a fan to keep things cool, only downside is that the ESC IS NOT waterproof. But im sure you can water proof it yourself , for BASHERS you will need to cover up or remove the ESC if you choose to clean your car up with water. SOLID PURCHASE will update as time goes on or if anything changes. GET IT

Works great with Castle Creations 1410 motor
I bought this to pair with a Castle Creations 1410 sensored motor in a Traxxas Slash 2wd. It works great! Do get the programmer card if you want to play with the settings, I think it was around $12 but definitely worth it. The programmer card instructions aren't perfect but it's simple once you figure it out. The stock settings in the speed controller worked nice right out of the box anyway. The only negative would be no screw holes for mounting. They do include strong double sided sticky pad that so far is working fine, and some zip ties that I did not use, but I would have preferred screw holes. Otherwise I'm very happy so far. Combined with the Castle motor this combo is significantly more powerful than the stock Titan 550 brushed motor, plus the battery lasts a lot longer. And it's very smooth. Time will tell how it lasts, but my initial impression is very good.

Great ESC, rock solid, reliable and barely breaks a sweat on my Tekno EB410 4WD track buggy.
As with all Hobbywing ESCs, this thing is a tank, works well, reliable, easy to program and works great with my Tekno EB410 4WD Buggy! I have used Hobbywing ESCs for a long time, in boats and cars of all sizes and requirements. I use this ESC on my 10th Scale 4WD track buggy on a clay track. It powers a 8.5T brushless sensored motor. I can race for a full heat and the temps on the ESC is barely 95F! Stays cool and barely breaks a sweet even with a low turn motor that I am using with it. You can buy a program card for $11 if you want to make your life easier, which I recommend.

fan not rated for 3s
this is a VERY nice esc for the money, i have three of them in total. one thing to note though, is the esc fan is not capable of working with a 3s battery in the stock configuration. all three esc fans burned up on 3s because they are not powered from the BEC, but directly from the battery though the esc connection. you will need a 12v rated fan to work with this esc on 3s. if your fan is not spinning, its because its blown. there is no thermal sensor for the fan to kick on. otherwise, a great esc for the money.

Excellent upgrade
I run this with a slingshot 17.5t in a traxxas. This ESC is exactly what the motor needed, out of the box with lots of punch, and go. It programmed with the receiver easily. I haven't touched the ting yet, but being a hobbywing, I am sure it will perform as it should.

Good value for the money esc
Good value 2s -3s esc I highly recommend the program card and a good quality soldering iron for high quality solder joints and a clean finish so that this esc can pump out the current I comfortably run a 6.5t brushless motor with no issues. The program card ( sold separately will allow you to further run you motor in small increments. As well as tune your braking requirements

Fan broke quick
The fan on top stopped working after 5 or six good rips but other than that works great
