will this product use other GreenWorks 40V batteries?

I bought a Greenworks lawnmower at the beginning of last summer for our weekend house and fell in love with it. I can mow the lawn with two charges. In order to be more efficient I bought the Greenworks chainsaw so I'd have an extra set of batteries that could be charging while I made the first pass of mowing. The good news is the batteries are interchangable between the mower and chainsaw. The bad news is the chainsaw is worthless. I thought perhaps I was overloading it by trying to cut wet hardwood so I tried it on a kiln dried 2x4 but it still bound up. There just isn't enough power. By the time I figured this out, I couldn't return it. I do recall Greenworks was coming out with a new more powerful 16" chainsaw that looked like it required a different 40V battery so I think you'll still have to double check compatibility. Sorry I didn't really answer your question but I thought I'd warn you about my experience with the saw.

does this model use a lot of oil?

The model number 20262 will come with a smaller reservoir than most standard 12" chain saws. Be sure to always check the oil before and after each usage.

What is the fps (feet per second chain speed) for this saw?

I have no way of measuring that. However, it is definitely "slower" than a gas powered chain saw. It is essentially a single speed. I am impressed with how well it actually works and how long the battery lasts during a series of thick tree trunks I recently sawed. Keep the rear portion of the chain and housing clear of build up for best operation and clean and lube the chain often.

Does this come with a scabbard? Cover for the saw?

The saw does include a cover for the bar and chain.
