Swissmar Borner V-1001 V-Slicer Plus Mandoline 5 Piece Set (Orange)

I had one like this for 20 plus years. The hand protector was the only thing that broke. I tried another new style. It cut me just getting it out to use. This one is safe to handle and very easy to use. Quickly changes from one cutting level to another. I'm very happy to have another just like the one I had for all of those years. Good job Swissmar for a timeless classic. Good value for the money and easy to clean.

Best mandolin you can buy

It's my third Bonner slicer,I've tried the others,and noting was as good and easy to use.I bought my first one in Germany in eighties and after many years of use I needed the new one,now don't remember what was wrong,probably the plastic broke.I didn't know I can get it in U.S. ,so I tried what was available at stores and nothing could match.Then I found my second one in some Home Expo,many years ago,it still works,but some plastic broke,so It stand a little unstable,it has stained plates,so I decided it's time for the new one.Its not cheap,but worth the money ,simple,easy to use,easy to clean,easy to store,with really sharp blades,but safe to use.

This product arrived undamaged & without incident. I absolutely love my new V-Slicer! I own 2 other V-Slicers. One from the 70's & one from the 80's. And they still work great! I simply wanted a new one. This product works great. For those who don't like this mandoline, I suggest you watch a few YouTube videos on how to use it properly. It is extremely sharp & you must be careful or you risk cutting yourself. I am a fan of Swissmar & Börner products. Make sure you have an original & not a knockoff. These products aren't cheap & flimsy. If you get a stain on it, a little bit of bleach will do the trick.

Despite this being my second copy of essentially the same mandolin that I use almost every night for making salads and fried potatoes, there is a learning curve each time you get a new machine. I cut my finger, yet again, on my first use!!! Be very careful to become masterful with your fingers and the glide aid (use it!!!). I cut 5 slices of tomato to make a salad most evenings. The single medium stem-on tomato usually is used two evenings and the second evening I use the 'convenience' holder so that I do not slice my finger on the second half. This time I was doing the first five slices which I usually do free-hand. Big mistake!! I have hopefully learned my lesson and have forgiven my beloved 'new' mandolin and will continue loving it but will healthfully respect its sharpness yet again.

It is sharp and makes slicing easier. Dishwasher safe.

Great tool for my kitchen - easy to use and store

I have bought 4-5 of these. People keep getting them as gifts. With a little creativity they are very versatile and easy to use.
