C.K 495029 Re-Threading Tool

Backbox rethreading tool, as an electrician this little re-threading tool is faultless and always a good get out of jail free card. Have used for years and now replacing as i lost the last one. Grip is comfortable and the pointed self centering tip is handy. Not much else to say about this product as its simple, reliable and cheap. Seems durable but thats its not a tool used every day but when its needed its perfect for a quick fix.

Good quality item

Bought the M4 version to chase the threads on kitchen cabinet knobs some clever person had wrecked by fitting them using wood screws. Worked perfectly so I don't have replace every knob in my kitchen as I fix the 3 damaged ones. I think the knobs are brass. Can't speak to the longevity of the product as only used it twice so far which is why I've given it four stars. Buying this was cheaper than 20-odd knobs.

This tool has saved a lot of time when dealing with damaged or tight M3.5 threads, especially in electrical back boxes and accessories. It cleans and restores threads easily, allowing screws to go in smoothly again without forcing or replacing the box. The build quality is excellent, and it feels solid and precise. The handle is comfortable and gives good control when re-threading. It’s a simple tool, but incredibly useful and worth having in the kit. Definitely a lifesaver for electrical maintenance work.

Great little tool! I already used it and it works great! I even drilled a 2.5mm pilot hole in plastic and used it to cut a new thread and it worked perfectly!

does the job just right

Had to re-tap the lugs in the patress box behind a light switch, this should have been ideal for the job but just didn’t work for me, maybe the lugs were too far gone. The tool itself is well made and easy to use so can’t complain on that score.
