PNW Blackberry Bustin' Lightsaber
Don't bother with other machete's, get this one. I just ordered a second backup. Put away the weedwacker. The drawback blade on the reverse is your best friend in the world for cleaning up overgrown wire fence lines from grass and vines. Use the reverse saw in a chopping motion along the fence line in the same manners as if it was the bladed side. Additionally the drawback blade is great for pulling out morning glory/bindweed from other plants. Stab the machete into the overgrown plant and hook the vines on the drawback blade as you pull back and subsequently rip them out. The handle guard is a big plus in terms of grip safety and protecting from surprise gnarly Himalayan blackberry vine scrapes. Do not swing like you are jungle explorer from the movies if you want to sustain your energy for a full job. Expend most of your energy lifting the machete up and lining up a safe strike away from your extremities, and then let gravity do most of the work on the actual swing. Take out burs/dings with a file and then sharpen and oil after every job or two.

Nice product - good sheath/scabbard
This is a really cool machete - Why? because it is hard to loose out of a strike as the grip hand protection prevents any flow out of your hand. The sheath is bit tight at the top entrance which in time will tear it up so I put in a metal nut & bolt to stop the inevitable wear. The chopping is good and strong of both branches, thorns, and twigs as well as regular lumber trunks. If the handle grows loose you can just tighthen it with a screwdriver - nice and durable! There is a strap to wrap around your hand should you get really busy in you work not to drop the machete. All in al a solid product worth is money. AAA-rating.

Good for normal use
We have had this machete for a year and a half now. We don’t use it every day, but it has seen quite some use. Pretty sturdy, and a little heavy. At one point I replaced a couple screws that fell out of the handle holding the blade in. Just recently my son put a little too much into a swing, and the blade snapped. Very strange to happen, but it probably was not with normal weed cutting force. As a whole it seems like a great tool. We probably will not buy again, but got some good use out of it.

Quality good but heavy.
I have no negative comments. It is long, heavy and has beefy strong construction. That said; some forms on proper safe use of a machete is on YouTube video. Two very important of using it is to let the weight of the tool do the work..do not smack it down hard! It's own blade weight will be enough for the cutting and chopping ...plus you will not get tired as fast. Secondly... swing in a 'in-to-outward' direction, to avoid hitting YOURSELF !!! This blade has a saw-tooth top splne. It is a draw-tooth... meaning when you pull the saw-blade towards you... It will saw. Very well made and the sheath has nice wide belt loop. Comes with wriststrap cord. I would buy again if I were to lose it. One final comment: It is NOT A PRYBAR. You will break the blade if used as a prybar.

Case stitching defective - material is separating & catches on machete
Overall this seems to be a satisfactory product based on the low cost. However, The machete blade is made of a lower quality stainless steel type 440 which is magnetic. The higher grades of stainless steel are non magnetic and hold up better. My main complaint is that the stitching on the fabric sheath trim is very poor quality and the protective trim keeps separating from the fabric sheath. The upper serrated blade catches on the loose trim when removing the machete from the fabric sheath. Each time the machete is removed from the fabric case the serrated teeth catch on the trim and tears it, making it worse. If the fabric sheath was stitched better the item would be very satisfactory for brush clearing and yard work. I really can not complain because you get what you pay for.

Better than most others
The handle design is unusual and very ergonomic. If you plan on using a machete for long periods this is better because you don't have to grip it so hard to control it. There's a reason military swords were designed with this type of handle ! Super sharp too.

This baby can cut.
Recently I purchased this Machete to take into the back country on a backpacking trip. It arrived and on first glance it looked like a decent knife. The saw is definitely a joke and doesn't cut worth crap and the handle is pretty bad as the plastic separates in the middle and it can pinch your hand. I was chopping wood and the blade slipped hitting my knuckle cutting down to my bone and causing a decent amount of bleeding. The next morning I hiked out 10 miles with my bone exposed hand to the hospital to later get 8 stitches. Now I only have 80% left in my pointer finger. So overall it can cut skin pretty well and I would buy again if I had to. So if you buy it, be careful so you dont end up like me.

A Powerhouse Outdoor Tool That Delivers
I recently got my hands on the Jungle Master JM-024L 28″ machete (sold by Master Cutlery) and I’m genuinely impressed. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly yet effective tool for rugged outdoor work, this one checks a lot of boxes. What stands out: The overall length is 28″ and the blade alone measures around 21.5″ of stainless steel with a reverse-serrated (saw-back) portion. The handle is black with an orange rim and comes with a lanyard cord, which adds a nice touch of visibility and usability in the field. It includes a nylon sheath, making it easy and relatively safe to transport. In actual use: I’ve used it to clear thick brush, hack through overgrown garden limbs, and even on a weekend camping trip it held up well. The long blade gives great reach, the serrated back edge is surprisingly helpful for tougher fibrous materials, and the handle provides decent grip and control. For the price point, it offers excellent value—you get a big size, solid materials and an outdoors‐ready design without spending an arm and a leg. Minor things to keep in mind: Because it is large (28″ overall) it’s not super convenient for tight spaces or light precision work—its strength is in longer reach and heavier tasks. Final verdict: For anyone into outdoor maintenance, camping, bushcraft or even just dealing with heavy yard work, the JM-024L is a strong choice. It strikes the balance of size + functionality + affordability really well. If you want a reliable “go-to” for heavy cutting tasks without overspending, this is one I can confidently recommend.

Made for real use, sharp and heavy duty
I've bought 2 Gerber and this one, this is by far superior in every way, was actually sharp on arrival, unlike Gerber garbage I returned both, this one I will buy again. The only downfall is some will.say its heavy, which actually makes for a good chop
