Rebuilt a SBC and both the compressor and expander worked well. My tip is to oil up the inside of the compressor well, make sure it’s “square/equal” on all sides of the piston. The expander isn’t as well made, but it does work pretty good once you get the feel of it.

Workse as intended. Good value for the money. I used it in a rebuild of a Kohler Twin engine on a zero turn lawnmower.

This ring compressor does work but the tension screw region tends to bow out a little bit so you gotta be careful when putting in pistons with this tool to not break a ring.
