I picked up this 60-piece pack of TRYMAG Strong Rare Earth Magnets to use for latch mechanisms, modular component connectors, and removable panels on my 3D printing projects. Having previously tested various budget craft brands, I was specifically looking to see if these could maintain tight dimensional tolerances and a high-quality surface finish. They completely met my expectations.Why these magnets are a solid addition to a maker's hardware kit:Vibrant and Tough Nickel Coating: The triple-layer Ni+Cu+Ni coating on these discs is exceptionally clean and smooth. Budget magnets often arrive with minor chips or a flaky finish that compromises the surface contact, but these rolls are flawlessly plated, allowing mating 3D printed parts to sit completely flush against one another.Dependable Structural Pull: For their compact size, the magnetic force is highly impressive. They click together sharply and offer plenty of structural holding power to secure heavy printed enclosure doors, tool panels, or modular hobby displays without letting go under vibration.Uniform Sizing: I checked several of these randomly with a digital caliper, and they are highly uniform in both diameter and thickness. This consistency is absolutely critical when you are designing press-fit pockets in CAD, as a variance of even 0.1mm can result in cracked plastic layer lines or loose magnets that fall out.Makerspace & Engineering Tips:Perfect CAD Tolerances: When designing a socket or recess to hold these for a pure press-fit, aim to model your hole diameter roughly 0.1mm larger than the magnet's physical size. This provides just enough clearance to press them home securely using the flat side of a pair of pliers without splitting your printed walls.Securing with Adhesives: If your model has a bit of loose play, opt for a thick Cyanoacrylate (Super Glue) or a quick-cure 2-part epoxy. As a rule of thumb, avoid using a hot glue gun anywhere near neodymium material, as the high heat can instantly and permanently degrade the magnetic alignment fields.Check Your Polarization: Before permanently gluing matching pairs into your 3D assemblies, mark one side of the magnet stack with a marker. I love the size and quality of these magnets. I have purchased several other brands and these are by far superior to others! They have an amazing hold capacity! They came in a case for storage and in perfect condition. I definitely recommend these and will be reordering more as needed. It’s a great value for the price. Don’t waste your money on less expensive ones! 5 stars!

Make sure to SLIDE them apart to avoid breaking.Ease of Use/Assembly/Install: ** (2 stars)For my application, They just didn't work as I thought they would. I mounted them on wood to make a resin knife holder. Testing it on wood was fine, held up the knives. I then tested it with varying thickness of cardboard in front of it to see how thick of a resin I could pour over. Found the correct depth, then poured the resin over. Final product came out nice, but the magnetic strength just wasn't strong enough for my project. Ended up having to drill out holes and putting magnets on the surface and then sealing.Usefulness/Appearance/Fun Factor: **** (4 stars)They could be good for other projects, just didn't work for mine.

Awesome magnets. Super strong. I use them to hold business cards to the frig. Glued 4 to bottom of a rubber duck, put on car, drove around town. (Removed from car by sliding a3x5 card or a business card underneath magnet and lifting up)

I've bought 370 of these magnets and have used over 300 of them. The ones from my first order (50pcs) were great; very strong, size within spec and great finish. So I ordered 200 more. Of those, 100 were great, but the other 100 were weak, undersized, had finish issues and you could tell some were chipped before being coated. I'm embedding these in 3d prints and need them to be strong and pretty true to size, so the 100 bad ones were unusable for me.I was disappointed with that order and planned to find another seller, but ended up needing more magnets quickly and these were the only that would be delivered in time. I ordered the 120pcs set and thankfully these were acceptable...but still not great. The finish and size were good and they were decently strong, but not as strong as that first order.In the end I'm not sure if I'll by these again. The black coated ones are less common (compared to silver/nickel) and there aren't nearly as many choices of sellers for them.

I use these when I make magnets with my three d printer and they are really strong. Customers always tell me how strong they are and they'll hold a whole packet of papers to their fridge (like 3 pages with one magnet) black ones look really sharp actually I buy both

They’re smaller than what I first thought but that’s good, I didn’t want them to be so big. They’re VERY magnetic, hard to pull the magnets apart so that shows how good they are.

Small. Strong enough it hurts to get pinched between them. Can't ask for more

4セット合計 240個注文。予定よりも何日か遅れて到着。寸法は、外径12mm、厚さ3mmで、ノギスで測ったら表示どおりではあるが、半分近くが私の用途には不合格。仕上げのメッキも綺麗でなく、擦り傷がついているものが多い。また、周辺部にへこみがあるものが半数以上見受けられる。硬い木に、ショートビットで穴を開け、 磁石を埋め込むという私の使用目的では、穴に手で押し込めるくらいゆるめのものがほとんどで、半数以上は スカスカで使えなかった。だが、工具との相性というよりも明らかに 規格外だ。なんとか使えるものもあるが、一生懸命に作った加工品に埋め込んでも、擦り傷や周辺部のへこみで外観が綺麗に見えないのは、残念。結果的には、木に深目の穴をあけ、その中にたくさんの磁石を入れて、表面を寸法通りの社外品の磁石で埋めて、超強力磁石を作り、使い切っておさらばした。ほっ。

サイズは6㎜×2㎜を購入しました。サイズのズレはぱっと見はないのだが、本当にネオジム磁石かと思うほど磁力がない、再度購入は控えたい。紙二枚挟むのがやっと

Don't know what happened, but in the past the magnets were consistently 3mm, the last batches I received were a mix of 2.5mm and 3mm, as if one wouldn't notice the difference.
