Lumos Remote with Charging Cable

The remote is an absolute must. So nice to put the turn signal control right where your hand is. I also like the fact that the control light up brightly so you can even see it in the day;Ishtar as well. Sorta wish it had a small light beep tone when on as well but heck, you can’t have everything. And I think one of their helmets may have a beep reminder in them not sure if it only 1 model or if all of them do it. (Or I could be thinking of a different helmet). But either way, the remote can be used with or without the app while riding. But I like the fact that when you use them directly without the app, it leaves your phones Bluetooth open to use it for a small speaker or other Bluetooth GPS bike computer that sometimes uses Bluetooth. So win-win… I would definitely recommend the remote controller to go with Lumos Lights. And their product support is hands-down top notch. (Will add some pics and a vid shortly)

Functions great. Occasionally it would loose connection with my helmet and I'd have to power cycle the helmet to turn off the turn signal, but I never had problems with it communicating with the Firefly lights. I think that's a helmet issue, not related to this. The buttons are small for gloved hands and you really need to think about where on your handlebar you can mount the remote. It's a bit further inboard than I'd like on my bike, but that's because of gear shifters, brake handles, e-bike controls, and bell also mounted to the handlebars. I like that the buttons light up when active, but they're not on all the time. Eventually my fingers memorized their location in the dark and I could do it by feel. The battery life far exceed that of the lights. I think I would charge the lights four times before having to charge the remote. I'm removing a star because of how the remote mounts to the dock. It twists on. Which means a missed button push could and can twist the remote off. That's what happened to me. I accidentally twisted the remote off and before I could retrieve it from the road, it was run over.

great product! I like that it is rechargeable and does not need batteries, also love that I now have the break light feature. would highly recommend this upgrade

The motion sensing in this unit for braking detection is either not sensitive enough (at lower settings) or too sensitive at the only setting that picks up braking. So at that level it continually signals breaking when accelerating, turning and sometimes seemingly randomly which quickly drains the helmets battery. With it mounted in a location that is easily reached for use as a turn signal, near the grips, I guess there is just too much movement from the handlebars. FYI I am not doing anything crazy, just riding on the road. Maybe if the remote were mounted near the stem of the bicycle to limit its' motion it might work more consistently but that would put it at a very inconvenient and unsafe place to use as a turn signal remote. It really seems to me that you need two units, a turn signal switch and a motion sensor, so that the motion sensor could be mounted near the stem of the bicycle to limit extraneous motion and the indicator switch near the grip for easy and safe operation. It works well as a turn signal remote but the Lumos helmet came with its own remote and the only real advantage this one has is it is USB rechargeable instead of battery operated, a nice upgrade (hence the 3 stars) but not worth $30 to me. To me this remote fails at its' primary purpose of enabling braking detection. My Lumos Ultra helmet is awesome, a great product, so hopefully in the future a revised braking sensor will be developed and made available. Until then I'm afraid I must return the unit for a refund.

Great device to allow you to notify drivers of your intentions when turning. It is meant to turn the back lights into break lights when slowing down, but I’m not sure how well that works if at all

Seit wenigen Monaten trage ich auf Fahrten mit dem E-Bike einen Lumos Ultra Mips Helm. Im Lieferumfang ist auch die Remote Lite, die ich schon nicht schlecht fand. Ein gravierender Nachteil ist jedoch, dass es nach und nach zu Funktionsaussetzern gekommen ist. Je nach Umgebungs-Geräuschkulisse kann ich gar nicht feststellen, ob der Blinker am Helm wirklich arbeitet oder nicht. Die kleine Diode blinkt nämlich auch dann, wenn der Blinker am Helm nicht aktiv ist. Nun aber zur Lumos Fernbedienung, die ich bestellt und sicher verpackt bekommen habe. Die Kopplung war recht schnell erledigt. Was im Gegensatz zur Remote Lite sofort auffällt, ist die Haptik und die jeweils beleuchteten Blinker-Tasten. Wenn ich links blinke, blinkt die L-Taste, wenn ich rechts blinke, blinkt die R-Taste. Im Endeffekt ist das vergleichbar mit dem Richtungsanzeiger im Auto oder auch an anderen Fahrzeugen. Im Endeffekt sollten "smarte" Helme grundsätzlich mit dem optimalen Zubehör verkauft werden. Die Aktivierung der Bremslichtfunktion hat mich etwas verwundert. Nach der Kopplung der Remote mit dem Helm funktioniert das Bremslicht erst einmal nicht. Auch die Aktivierung der Bremslichtfunktion in der App bewirkt erst einmal nichts. Man kann die Empfindlichkeit in der App herauf oder herunter regeln. Aber auch dann tut sich erst einmal nichts. Man muss nach jeder Änderung durch Drücken der L- oder R-Taste bestätigen, damit die Funktion wirklich greift. Dann greift sie aber auch.
