BX500 500 GB Solid State Drive - 2.5" Internal - SATA (SATA/600) | 500GB SATA SSD with 540MB/s read and 500MB/s write for booting, loading and multitasking

I buy enclosures and make my own external hard drives. This one worked great, has 500 GB of storage and is fast. I later used it in an older iMac to replace the Fusion Drive and extended the life of a computer I was taking apart to throw away.

Used two of these to fix up two old (like 15+ years old) laptops just to see how they would change performance. Replaced standard hard drives with these SSD drives. Easy to install. Installed Linux OS and was just amazed at reduced boot time and functionality of such an old machine. New wireless cards and upgrades to 16GB ram along with these SSDs turned two paper weights into highly functional laptops.

Best budget ssd I’ve bought by far I never write reviews when I bought this for I think 70 something dollars (I know I know) it was questionable but other than a random error 51 which was just a bad cable all I can say is keep the firmware updated on these and let them go this one is trusted with some critical stuff on my lab and I’m glad I felt cheap that day

Work well on my nvidia jetson tx-1 so far.

Solid product for sata Desktops or laptops, I have had no failures for the customers ive installed or cloned their old HDD to this SSD. They also are must faster compared to any mechanical drive well worth the price.

Crucial SSDs perform well and represent good value for the money. However, I am taking off one star because the free Acronis imaging solution is so atrociously slow it's comical. Samsung's imaging solution does not have this problem, so if you are migrating from a traditional hard drive to an SSD, you would be wise to pay a few more dollars and go with a Samsung SSD.

This Crucial SATA SSD is lightning fast and even faster than the Crucial drives I bought five years ago. I've been buying Crucial drives for a while, tried others, and keep coming back to this brand. Tried Tikwot NVMI 4 TB SSD, a sorry expensive piece of junk that their engineers can't even design a usable heatsink to fit it!

I purchased this to replace the original HDD in my 2012 Mac Mini, and it worked perfectly. The speed is great, and has great performance for Windows via Bootcamp. Installation was easy, my only complaint is that the drive wobbles a bit when placed without a spacer internally.

This SSD hard drive is perfect for my security cameras! It’s fast, reliable, and handles continuous recording without any issues. Easy to set up and has plenty of storage space. Highly recommend for surveillance systems!

Have been using Crucial for a very long time, both for their excellent memory modules and their SSD's. Don't think I've ever had a Crucial RAM stick failure ... maybe one or two? They are reliable, and are always in the frame for all of my RAM purchases, along with Samsung, Micron, Kingston - any manufacturer who offers lifetime warranty on their RAM is someone you should be buying from. The BX500 is a great budget SSD choice, where you want your money to favour storage capacity. 3 year as opposed to the MX500 which has a 5 year warranty, but in this case, the BX500 is the better choice as it is for a seldom used laptop that needs that performance boost from the 5400rpm hard drive that is really struggling now after all those updates have burdened the operating system with. The performance is not too far off the MX500 as the underpinnings are mostly the same. MX is definitely better, but BX is better here and that's what the BX range was made for.
