Excellent item but had to return as obtained free one from company

Worked Well
We had a new boiler fitted, and kept complaining to the Gas Safe engineer we could smell gas. The alarm went off, stating new boiler was leaking gas, we turned off the gas at the mains and the alarm stopped eventually. Engineer came back next day, and turned on the gas, and alarm went off again .. point proved! It worked for us.

safety device for peace of mind
Nice easy to read item that lets you know loudly if there is a problem with your gas supply i.e. any leaks

Useless, tested when arrived. Dangerous
Tested as it arrived. Put it inside a medium sized paper bag and put the gas hose inside the bag, sealed bag at mouth, and opened gas tap. Left there for 5mis. Alarm did NOT go off at all. Numbers showed 3-4. No bleep. Test done outside in open air, as would be unsafe inside. Has NO CE mark. Will give false sense of security. Positively DANGEROUS. Why on earth did Amazon allow its sale??

read the instructions
if you read the instructions you will understand different height locations are required for different gasses. I have tested it by introducing lpg into a safe test area; very quick to react. A very affordable alarm for that extra peace of mind.

Quite sensitive
It does work but will even alarm when you make toast in an electric toaster. Not as good as a previous item from another supplier but may still do the job.
