Accessible creative fun. Not too messy.
This worked well for a three year old but would probably be even better for age 4 to 6. All five colours of "clay" were bright and all were easy to mould. There's a little scientific info provided, and the idea is that you feel like a paleontologist "reconstructing" the dinosaur based on the skeleton you have found. The clay is light, a bit like mousse consistency. On a warm summer's day, outside, a couple of the colours felt really sticky, so maybe half an hour in the fridge might have helped? They did start to dry out after an hour or so and become harder to work with (this is the intention, that they should dry out to a permanent shape). Again, I think there might have been more workable time if we had done it inside, in a cool room. The clay seems to be fairly easy to remove from clothing, tabletops etc. using another lump of clay.

Perfect for any Dinosaur lover
Got this for my son for Christmas and he loved it. You can really make it last if you don't let your kids do them all in one go. He has had so much fun moulding the clay around the skeletons. My only negative is that the clay come in little unsealable bags and it is a bit fiddly getting the clay out. I think it would be so much easier if they came in little pots because you need to use the same colour for more than one dinosaur and if you aren't wanting to do them all in one go then you need some cling film to wrap the remaining clay in to stop it drying out. I highly recommend if you have a dinosaur obsessed kid at home. It's such good quality and great value for money. It was one of his favourite presents. I'd definitely buy other sets if they were available.

Great idea to replace tv and electronic toys with something that allows for great family time. In the end the child has something they created to reminder them of their efforts.

9 year old really enjoyed putting these together

Para 4 años es una actividad muy chula. Pero si quieres que el dinosaurio quede al final aceptable tienes que terminarlo tú. Una vez se seca la plasti así se queda. Pero está genial. Recomiendo.

Bought this for my kid. That was the official excuse. In reality, I wanted to live out my fantasy of becoming a world-renowned paleontologist-sculptor hybrid who works in clay and chaos. Mission accomplished. The kit comes with everything you need to make little dino masterpieces—or, in our case, deformed lizards that look like they’ve seen things. My T-Rex came out looking like he’d had a mid-life crisis and now works part-time at a gas station. My kid made a Triceratops with a sideways horn and named him “Steve.” Steve has become our emotional support dinosaur. The clay is colorful, soft, and moldable—until it mysteriously disappears and shows up days later under your shoe, behind the couch, and once, somehow... on the dog. National Geographic, how did you pack this much fun AND chaos into one box? I feel both amazed and personally attacked. The educational guide was a nice touch—my child learned actual facts, like how the Stegosaurus had a brain the size of a walnut, and I learned that stepping barefoot on a clay Velociraptor tail is worse than stepping on a LEGO. Barely. We had a blast for hours. HOURS. Which, in parent time, is basically a spa retreat. My house looks like a prehistoric crime scene, and my kitchen table has become the official Dino Display Museum (admission: one juice box). Final verdict: this kit is amazing. It’s messy, it’s silly, it’s educational, and it makes you feel like you’re Michelangelo sculpting dinosaurs during a sugar rush. 10/10 would buy again. In fact, I might need another one… Steve’s lonely.
