These lights work perfectly if you’re trying to make a Pinterest looking squiggle light wall! Would recommend buying some more clips to hang them with but other than that totally worth the money!!

We purchased this light for its length, color range and quality, and price point, and have not been disappointed... There are some novel programs for setting the color changing and the timing of color changes and transitions; those are cool but what we really liked was the diffusion provided by the material that everything is encased in. There are no hot spots and the light is just the right brightness for it use as a recessed light sitting above a ledge over our TV. We love the way this looks and is available in the perfect length, yet could be cut to fit a space if needed. The remote works fine if it has a direct signal to the IR receiver, and better yet, the IR receiver can be hidden if connecting solely with the free controller app. While this device does not provide HomeKit integration, we have had zero issue with plugging this into a HomeKit enabled smart switch... We use Siri to turn the lights on and off through automation, and defer to the app or remote if changing the LED color, or setting a time-based program for color to automatically change. This light strip retains its previous settings, even when switch on/off via the 3rd party smart switch, which is what makes this product integrate perfectly for our needs and smart home system. The only criticism is for the clips that come with the product. They attach via some very small screws, however there is no much room for a heavier screwdriver to to fit in the center of the clips when screwing into wood, and in our use case, there is no room to fit a drill to make a pilot hole. A smaller screwdriver is just not providing enough hand grip or purchase area on the heads of the screws when screwing into wood without a pilot hole. Alternately, we used a heavy duty double stick foam tape to attache the clips, however the vinyl material used for the clips does not allow for much adhesions strength and the clips popped off the tap under the forces of the previously coiled strip be forced to lay flat. We would gladly purchase again for upcoming lighting projects, but would recommend that the company switches to metal clips or a design with a mounting hole positioned outside of the clip area for easier access, since not everyone has access to a 3D printer to make their own design ;-)

Everyone I gifted them to loved them just as much as I do! They’re easy to set up, versatile for any space, they create such a fun, modern vibe, and they just work. These lights are terrible. I was hoping to use them to light my wifes clothes closet. Imagine my disappointment when I finally got them to turn on only to see that the white light was COLD and very dim. First Impression was bad. The lights offgassed something terrible and left a chalky residue on my hands when handling. The wires are flimsy and the little connector had a hard time fitting in to the controller box. I felt I was going to break the connector because it was so brittle. I connected the 24vdc power supply and plugged it in then came the remote: I pulled the tab, pressed the "ON" button and my finger darn near went through the backside of the remote! It's like it caved in. Great....Of course, the lights did not come on. I pressed the "ON" "OFF" buttons to no avail. I looked at the remote through my phone camera to see if it was emitting IR and to my surprise it WAS. Great, so now I had to unplug the brittle connection and try the other port on the controller. Still nothing. DOA? My outlet was fine so I unplug them and then the lights suddenly came on then off briefly!! What? Turns out that there must be a short in the power supply plug. If I wiggled the base wiring, the lights would flicker. I finally bent the wiring in such a way that the lights stayed on but I was better off with the unit never coming on because the lighting was so poor that I cannot believe that these were even manufactured in the first place. "Amazons Choice" - Thats what led me to purchase these. But why are these cheap lights Amazons Choice? These are the worst lights I have ever seen and they were gross to the touch and REEKED of plastic manufacturing. Take a look at my product photos. This is the brightest "white" they produce. I know its the brightest because there is logic in the controller to "flash" the lights when you reach the end of the brightness scales. So this was it....And look at the ugly dots....No diffusion at all. Imagine this in a clothes closet! No thank you. I wouldn't even put these behind a TV. Promptly returned them and got an amazing rope light at the same price that is an actual COB light with proper white lighting.

Lights are very good for the price. The only problem with them is that the kit to put them up if very hard to use and won’t go into the wall. I would recommend using these instead, however very good lights.

I’ve used a bunch of other products, but keep coming back to Govee for the price and quality (and features). This Rope light is actually a decent thickness, which is what I wanted for my board game table to provide some light (and silly effects). Note this is pretty thick, so will be harder to shape if you want to do wall shapes/picture. Essentially this lights up on the wider side of the rope light, the others tend to be the thin side of the rope (both have their benefits). The app is a little over complicated to be honest, but for the price you pay, loaded with features. There’s all sorts of pre-built color modes, light chasing, flashing and even audio response mode from the little mic on the control. I actually had to take these apart to hide the wires (desoldering and resoldering the cable from the controller to the lights). The connection is clearly solid, and re-enforced with a plastic/silicon of some kind for safety. You WILL find cheaper options out there but you will probably regret buying those. A key requirement for me when buying LED strips is not being able to see the individual LEDs and the color should blend in across the strip providing a smooth light and color. Also another feature I like (as a tech nerd) is the ability for local LAN/network control. I don’t allow these to access the internet directly, and block their IP address from my external network. I have paired them through Home Assistant too and so have central local control of them in my house. Their Hex tiles are also a great competitor to nano-leaf (which I love but not the price). Bang for your buck I’d recommend Govee at the time of writing.

I purchased the 2 50ft rolls . I received 1 20ft roll and it barely lights up. Doesn't change colour and is not RGB like the photo shows. Very disappointing. Returning the item. Quality seems very horrible too.

I purchased this neon strip light expecting a smooth, continuous neon glow. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like a true neon light. The individual LED dots are clearly visible, making it look more like a regular LED strip inside a diffuser rather than a seamless neon strip.
