GeMoor practice lock set has improved new design pick set, more springy, durable and easy to use It will come out in perfect smooth working condition with no loose parts or pins It features a transparent cutaway you can see all the movements the pins make and what exactly triggered this movement Perfect for the locksmith in the making, Lock sport enthusiasts or just mechanically curious people Package including:12 x Various Picks, 3 x Tension Wrenches, 1 x Carrying Case and 1 x 100% Fully Functioning Transparent Practice Lock Review: Get set for beginners and something to keep you busy on a rainy day! - As a complete novice to lock picking a few weeks ago this has been a great set to start with at a very good price. Despite being one of the cheapest sets on desertcart all the basic tools initially needed are there. After reading a book and watching a bunch of YouTube videos I am now able to open the lock although it took some practice. The tools themselves seem decent quality. Cosmetically parts of the paint have scraped off, but I assume that's natural when i.e. raking and rubbing against metal parts. More importantly, they haven't bent warped, bent or snapped after hours of play. They seem like they will last a reasonable amount of time. Remember the lock is spring loaded and these are precision tools large amounts of force shouldn’t be used and isn’t required. The components in the lock are much stronger than the picks so in a match of force the picks will lose every time. To open the lock you're gently attempting to push the pins up into the chamber keeping them level so the plug is free to be twisted releasing another part which releases the lock. Simply put this is a technical task, not a forceful task. Although when frustrated trying to force it is appealing! The transparent lock is really useful being clear, it's perfect for learning and seeing how all the working parts interact. Once you crack your first one and successive ones you’ll get a nous/ understanding of how it works i.e. picking up on small audible clicks, when to wiggle, raking techniques etc. I’m still learning myself. The lock also comes with 2 keys and could be used like a standard lock if you’re short of one. The picking set comes in a lovely bow tied inconspicuous box which shouldn’t arouse the interests of i.e. children if you want to keep them out of mischief and a leather pouch is provided if you want to bin the box. This would be a good gift to keep people occupied. I might get my nephews a set when they are of a more responsible age. Pictures below. Review: Great buy - Great buy

Fun and useful
This was an impulse buy - but what a buy. I had fun learning how to pick locks, and had successes. Then came the day to use them for real - and yes - I was able to help somebody get in their house. The lock-picking principles are almost universal, this kit is for an amateur like me, but certainly did the job. Very pleased with myself. Recommended

pretty good for what they are
theyre cheap but useable. tension vice will bend over time so for those stiffer locks, pick up a stiffer vice or at least one with a decent heat treat. but theyre good for the money

Keeps you occupied for ages
Great little tool, my son loves it and it gets him off his console. Would definitely recommend.

Snap, snap, snappity-snap!
Lovely presentation box and neat little pouch to keep the picks in. That's about the only good I can see in these picks. Unfortunately, the set turned out to be very disappointing… • The practice lock can be picked simply by pressing the pins with the flat side of any pick, rendering it virtually useless for learning the art of lock picking. • Two picks had snapped within 20 minutes of using them, including the most useful, the city rake. The metal is too brittle. • The finish is VERY rough. You could file through a lock quicker than you could pick them with this set. They really do need to be sanded down a little to make them useable. • They are just a tad too wide, making it very tricky to pick UK or EU locks. It can be done, but not as easily as on US locks. • The tension bars are too narrow, so they slip within the lock. You would be better off picking locks using a hair pin and windscreen wiper blade insert.

Excellent starter kit
Excellent starter kit, helps you understand the mechanics behind the lock, picks are slightly flimsy and the tension rods are bendable but for the price its great. comes gift ready packaged.
