For context, I tried to transfer 90 GB of data and it took 1 minute and 28 minutes on a macbook pro m4. Very beneficial as a 2nd storage, especially if you dont want to get ripped by apple for storage (when buying a new macbook) or u already bought a very low storage macbook (that cant and wont be upgraded anymore).It has an aluminium build with rubber surface (but its not very water resistant so be careful).

I purchased a Crucial 4TB SSD, and it completely failed within just one year. I’ve lost all my important documents and precious photos, and despite several attempts, I still haven’t been able to recover any data. This was extremely disappointing, especially from a reputed brand like Crucial.I chose this SSD only because it was around 100 AED cheaper than the SanDisk model — a decision I deeply regret now. Please don’t make the same mistake I did; saving a small amount upfront is not worth the risk of losing your valuable data.I also tried reaching out to Crucial customer care, but since I am currently outside the UAE, I received no proper response or support. I strongly urge Crucial’s management to improve their global customer service and ensure that loyal customers are not left helpless in such situations.

Been using it for quite some time now - extremely small and portable, but as fast as they come - in combination with a MacBook Pro, this thing is greay for quick backups when lots of data is being moved around, and also works amazingly well working off of it in a pinch!

If you use it on Mac, make sure to use Mac format to avoid data loss.

I have been buying Crucial brand products for years. RAM, SSD's. It is a brand that I have come to trust and love. This 4TB X9 Pro SSD is no slouch as my benchmark in BlackMagic will show. I tested it with a 5gb test file written and read using my Mac Mini M4 Thunder Bolt 4 (USB C) port directly connected to the SSD and it would peak at 1000mb (1gb) per second write but averaged a consistent 914.2 mb/s and would peak at 1100mb (1.1gb) per second read but averaged 847.1mb/s. Far faster than USB 3 standards which when I connected it to these ports came in around 80mb/s with a peak of 300mb/s write and similar for the read. So you can see that if the computer can do the speed like my Mac M4 Mini can on its Thunderbolt 4 (USB C) port, then the drive can keep up. I bought this drive so that I can directly record 4K video onto it using my video capture device. I have been archiving hours of VHS tapes into digital format and some of these tapes can run for 6 hours so the files are huge once captured. This SSD is more than fast enough to keep up with the capture software capturing in 4K so that I have the absolute best RAW copy of the VHS tape for archiving purposes and then once it's in digital format I can drop down the bit-rate and resolution to save space without sacrificing the initial quality of the capture. So what can I say? You won't be disappointed with this SSD and if you are then it's probably your own equipment that is the problem because this SSD is really fast and being a Crucial brand product means you can trust it. The Pro series makes it even better by using ultra high quality flash memory that protects your stored bits using TLC SSD memory instead of QLC. Get one folks... 4TB when on sale it's a really good deal!

So quick. If you’re moving from a hdd this is a massive jump.I run Lightroom catalogs from it and store my RAWs on it to edit in Lightroom.Works brilliantly.Very short cable not an issue at all, might want to consider a pouch for the back of your screen. Very light, very small. Class!
