Every dog groomer should own one of these, honestly it’s less a tool and more a crime scene investigator for dogs. Perfect for capturing those “mystery walkers” so you can present the evidence to the owner at collection like, surprise, your dog arrived with guests. I’ve used it to photograph harvest mites, ticks and fleas and let me tell you, ignorance really was bliss. Up close they look like they pay rent and have opinions. It’s also brilliant for spotting stitches vets have thoughtfully left behind like a little souvenir, and thorns, because apparently half the dogs out there are just wandering through nature like they’re auditioning for a survival show.

Really handy on the move - I use for geological samples in the field

Works really well with one caveat. It only focuses at 1cm, no more. So no good for things like circuit boards with raised components like capacitors when you want to look at the board itself.

You have to literally put the magnifier onto the thing you want to see for it to focus, it doesn't have no focusing in feature so if you are thinking of buying it to check on components on a circuit board where other components stand taller in the area you want to view don't bother yourself.

Fantastic magnifier. I have amber with insect inclusions and I like to look at the insects so this thing is perfect. Tons of magnifying power with a nice screen display that you cam even snap a photo of the screen!

I was hoping that this little unit would replace the magnifying glass we use during murder mystery investigations. This magnifier needs to be held about 1/2" above the surface which makes it too close for reading unless you want to literally take it one word at a time. Between having to hold it closely and the enormous magnification it is almost too awkward to use. I'm not willing to keep trying to see if I can make it work.
