Convenient and Functional
We have been using this water bath canner for canning pasta sauce, salsa, etc. and love it. Very simple to use with easy, automated directions. We can fit a large amount of jars in it at once. Clean up is also very easy with a spout to drain off water. It stands alone out of the way so it doesnโt interfere with other cooking in the kitchen. We also enjoy that it has multiple uses for cooking. It can blanch vegetables, steam, and boil noodles. The only downside we found is that we wish the grip over the handle was longer. This would benefit those with bigger hands. Overall, this was a great purchase worth the money.

It does its job and then some!!
I have been canning for more than forty years and have enjoyed all of the processes involved - right - itโs where science meets art meets the physical endurance of any athlete! Ha! After aging and injuries took hold canning was such a struggle - the lifting - the steamed up kitchen making it harder to see and just acclimate to the extra heat. Lifting that old enamel canner - just near to impossible now. Then, I stumbled across this Ball canner!I have to say this canner is the bomb!! I used it for the first time this week and went to town on several recipes! The timer is perfect, the display panel is good. Even with eyesight that is not as good as it used to be - I can see the display well. The instruction book is your friend with this - and very well written! If I could make one suggestion to Ball it would be to put the instructions on one โlaminated cardโ so that when you refer to it again and again while canning - youโre not getting it wet!! The canner worked exactly as expected and did all the things the booklet said it would. One thing I missed but was clearly in the booklet: when the canner is processing a batch - it sometimes sounds like itโs turning off or slowing down (youโll notice itโs not bubbling the same). . Initially I thought it was broken- nope! The canner knows its temperature and to stay at temperature it slows itself down (this is in the booklet). Another awesome quality about this canner is that the kitchen doesnโt become a sauna! Itโs such a good solid piece of equipment. The spigot is fantastic! Zero lifting!! ZERO lifting! Iโve not had it long enough to speak about rust resistance however I did put the vinegar in the water as suggested bball in the booklet. To test the canner out I did several different recipes and they all set just fine and processed very well. No issues in a single batch out of seven plus recipes. I wasnโt sure when I was purchasing this product if it would indeed be worth the money - hands down the best thing Iโve bought in years!!! It truly is a game changer. The best part: I had thought my canning days were gone - another favorite thing Iโd have to let go of because of how much I could no longer do physically. This technology and brilliant design of this canner has made it all possible again! So thank you to the design folks at Ball who had the vision to make a product that would respond to the needs of their consumers. Great job. To anyone reading these reviews - Iโve learned a lot from the reviews here - the take away from my review to you - is: donโt wait! Youโve earned this canner ;) and if youโre a canner you know what I mean. Just get it lol !!

Great water bath canner that youโll ever find
This canner does it all. Warms you jars and on the correct heat settling you can even sterilize them. Itโs so easy to set it and know everything will come out perfectly. Although I wonโt use it for steaming food thatโs an option too. Best Buy Iโve made in a long time.

Game changer
I love this!! I started canning with regular kitchen items: huge pots, etc. this is so,so worth the money. It takes so much of the work out of it. You don't have to worry about burning yourself. It chirps to tell you when each temperature is reached:correct temp reached, sterilized glass, near idiot proof timing of processing and an automatic cool down feature. Also, the spout on the side to empty the water directly into the sink is so much safer and easier. It has made my life so much easier

BUY IT! Absolutely Worth It!!
Buy it!! The fact that I can set it and go is so convenient. Yes, it can take a bit to warm up, but once it's going...canning goes so smoothly! You can speed up the heating process by adding hot water, but overall this has been literally the best purchase I've made in years. So far I've used it for pickles, peppers, salsa, relish, and tomatoes. From 10 minutes to 40 minutes...walking away gives me a chance to clean up and work on something else.I also appreciate that my kitchen doesn't get warm like it used to with my stove! With it being hot as the devil's armpit outside, keeping the house cool is a priority and this absolutely helps!Buy it, save your time, your effort, and energy! It is SOOOOO convenient!!

So far this Water Bath Canner is working great.
I read all the reviews before buying and the only negatives seemed minor so I decided to give it a try. I have a gas stove and water bath canning on my stove really heats up my kitchen so I was looking for a better option. The instructions are very few and very easy to understand. The negative comments I noticed from others were just a few. I have a bit of experience with hot bath canning so I'm comfortable with some shortcuts I'm taking. If you are new to water bath canning, I'd recommend you follow all guidelines and instructions given for this canner.1. Not being able to skip the step to heat jars when not needed. For what I have done I needed to heat jars so that wasn't an issue however I did find that it seems to go above and beyond the heat level needed before filling. I start taking my jars out when I feel they are hot enough to fill so by the time the canner works thru this cycle I normally have my jars full and back in the pot ready to move on the Processing. If you are cold packing your jars and then needing to process I really don't have any suggestions.2. Setting the timer for the amount of processing time. Yes you do have to hit the plus sign alot of times especially if you need longer processing times but really this takes less than a minute. It would have been nice if the plus sign advanced to 5 minute increments because that would have worked perfectly but still no big deal. Also if you fail to press next after setting the time the canner will turn off and you have to start over:( This is a bit frustrating cause it then has to work thru hitting jars before moving on to processing but since water is already hot this moves thru pretty quickly3. I love that once Jars are filled and I set the processing time (and press next) I truly can walk away and not baby sit like I do boiling water on the stove top.4. I love the spout for draining water but I find when I'm doing a lot of canning I just leave the water in the pot with lid on for the next day's canning job.5. I think I'll also enjoy this pot to make big batches of sauces, soups and stews and reducing the use of my gas top stove to keep my kitchen cooler:)

Ball Company doesnโt sell replacement parts to itsโ electric canners
The canner came in a damaged box and the glass lid was crushed in a thousand shards. I had bought it from Amazon Resale, which I understand those products are still supposed to be functional, and probably new but returned for some reason. In any case, I called Amazon and requested a replacement lid. They said I need to contact the Ball company. I did that and there is an AI customer Service robot that responds to inquiries. It bungled my request to simply buy a new lidโthinking, to the degree it can thinkโthat I wanted a free replacement, which set it off with a long-winded reply that there are no replacement parts. I requested a live person, who actually called me on the phone and said that the robot was correct, the Ball Company does not sell parts to itsโ expensive electric canners! Im on my own to try to find a regular giant frying pan lid to fit this $300 canner! The one I just bought, after measuring carefully, somehow doesnโt fit which I suppose has something to do with the way the rim is tooled.

How did I ever can without this canner?!
What can I say? It's easy to use. It does a great job canning, and it doesn't heat up the house like a stove top canner. No more anxiety for my husband who was convinced I would burn myself without his assistance. ๐It's really a good investment and I'm glad I got it.

Worth the cost
At first I was skeptical if it was truly worth it, because of the price. I do a lot of canning, and I have a glass-top stove so I'm often concerned about the weight on the stovetop when I have a big pot of sauce cooking, along with my pot for water bath canning. It's so convenient to be able to set it up next to the sink for easy filling and draining. You can set the temperature to high to get it to come to a boil, and skip the jar sanitizing stage if you're like me and use your dishwasher to clean your jars ahead of time and heat them in the oven before filling. At first, like other reviewers I thought that it took a long time to heat up, but I once compared it to my large pot of boiling water and the stove top was only a few minutes faster.

Well worth the investment!
Great way to can preserves. I will never go back to the old way of canning on my stove top. Very happy with this and now recommend to my friends and family who also like to put up preserves.

So much easier to can
You n o longer have to hover over the stove making sure that your water level stays high- you set the whole thing up and walk away. And your stove is now free to use for something else as well. Really happy with this purchase.

Best canner!
Best canner ever! So easy to use and no more guessing when the water is ready to go and keeping the water at the right temp. So glad I bought this:)

Easy Ball Canner
Works very well but takes awhile to figure out how to run it. Best just go to YouTube and watch excellent video instead of trying to g to figure out the instructions included with the canner. The process seems to take a long time to go from one step to the next
