Solid feeling switch, good quality.
It always amazes me when I buy a cheap part and what I get feels solid. This is essentially a two part device. The part that attaches to the case is all metal on the outside. It has weight, feels smooth. I feel as if I could slap this button in an emergency (as in what you are supposed to) and in my adrenaline frenzy I would not break the button. The external metal shell stops at the case you mount it on. The post the button is mounted on is plastic. I wish it was metal. The shaft and retaining nut are plastic, the threads feel smooth and look well shaped. This is a push (slap) to activate, twist to deactivate. The twist is very smooth. The button section and the wiring section can be separated. This is needed to mount the button at all, since both the button and the wiring base are larger than the hole you need to make in the case. The sides of the wiring base are transparent. There are two sides to the switch. One side is normally closed and opens when you slap the switch, the other side is normally opened and closed when you hit the switch. Looking through the sides of the switch, there are two contacts on each side. For the normally closed side, opening either of the two contacts will break the circuit. But on the other side, you have two contacts, a problem with either contact will cause the circuit to not make contact. I personally believe that the normally closed side is a solid way to disconnect equipment in an emergency. The normally opened side might be a way to engage a magnetic brake, or to light a light that indicated that the emergency stop was engaged. My plan is to place this switch and to use the normally closed side. I will wire the line cord to a GFI breaker inside the box, and then I will take the hot lead and run it through the emergency stop. Then I will take it to a DIN rail and distribute it to three points: a 120 volt fan, a 36 volt DC power supply, and a line supply cord for the lathe. I am going to use the automatically open side to power a panel light, if I can find something I like.

Works as expected, well made.
Works well, seems properly constructed. Had 100% failure rate with other cheap versions on Amazon. I’d buy this again.

Not a double pole, double throw switch
This is a single throw emergency switch. It's rated for 220 volts but only breaks one side. Still 120 volts after the switch, but it does kill the power on 220 volt circuit.

Warning! It’s big and it’s red!
It’s a big red button that’s going to lure you to press it. Every day you will need to fight the urge to press this big red button. It will call to you like your ex holding a boom box and playing Peter Gabriel outside of your window.
