Fantastic high level overview of materials and how they pertain to design. Well written and informative. Wonderful binding quality and finish; high gloss and high density paper make this a treat to read. Only three stars due to editing. It's incredible the amount of grammatical and formatting errors that are found throughout. I know it doesn't affect the knowledge within, but if someone is dropping $50 on a book it should feel like the editor was paid for actually doing their job.

Ofrece una colección bastante amplia de materiales categorizados por su método de extracción, y aborda de manera amplia y sencilla las generalidades de las materiales (aplicaciones, derivados, producción, características, origen y costos aproximados etc.) Dependiendo de lo que estés diseñando este libro no te va a dar el 100% de la información que necesitas sobre un objeto pero para mi uso como diseñador principiante y estudiante me ofrece un enorme catálogo de donde puedo investigar más, y me da 3/4 partes de la información relevante para el nivel de justificación que usualmente necesito.

The book is amazing. Well structured and informative. It includes how the Material is produced, what the sustainability issues are, the costs etc. However as a booklover I am disappointed by the delivery. The book was just packed in a bubblewrap in a plastic bag. Usually it should come in a special cardboard for books. So it has crinkles on its cover which is extremely frustrating.

Fantastic write up of typical widely used materials and the more obscure. I'm a product designer with a background in mechanical engineering and found this enjoyable to read and educational.
