Pricy - But works well!
I've had a bad experience with traditional spring mounted booms over time. So, for a long time using one has left a bad taste in my mouth. I'll keep my impressions brief: Pros: * Great Cable Management, cannot even see the cable * Great length * Extension arm provides a great amount of flexibility for different kinds of mics * Very stable * Can fit just about any kind of desktop provided you have a large enough lip * Metal constuction (aluminum?) * Well packaged for shipping Cons: * Cable management setup is a pain, but it's a one time thing. * It's large and doesn't easily collapse away when not in use * $$$ Expensive at $91! Fortunately I got a "Used (Like New)" one for about $60. At this price point I feel it was a good value. * Joints are plastic, and possibly a point of failure * When not tightened, my AKG mic was too heavy for the spring, and it slowly falls - But not an issue if you tighen it. Could be a downside depending on the weight of your mic.

Studio-Quality Feel — Smooth, Sturdy, and Clean
This boom arm completely upgraded my setup. The build quality is top-tier — solid metal construction with a super smooth articulating action that doesn’t drift or sag, even with heavier mics like the SM7B. It looks pro, feels pro, and functions flawlessly. The hidden cable management is a huge plus — keeps everything clean and out of the way, which is great if you're on camera or just like a tidy desk. Mounting was simple, and it stays put once positioned. If you're podcasting, recording vocals, or streaming regularly, this is the boom arm to get.

Base elbow broke within two hours
I had it installed with the Shure name and decal facing towards me on my left as to not block my second monitor. To have my microphone "Shure SM7B" facing towards me I had to have the first elbow in a 75 degree angle like in the drawing with the second facing down a little and the final one slightly up to make the mic be in by face but below my monitor where I sit. this leaves its with like 2 inches of clearance above my keyboard. In the middle of playing a game in less than two hours of installing this mic stand the first elbow made a loud popping noise and jumped out of the base/clamp. the bottom elbow completely locked up and I can't loosen it at all unlike the other elbows and its stick in a straight vertical completely opposites of how I would need it for my set up. I looked up a couple videos of other people setting the boom arm up and they did it exactly the same give for them positioning it for their situations. So now to use this mic boom I have to install it upside down which doesn't lock the first and second elbow at all so the arm really just rest on my desk meaning I can't have it in the spot I wanted making it block my right side of my keyboard without moving something. The only way to install it on my desk with the first elbow completely lock in position was on the right side making redo my whole setup. TLDR: No instruction in or on the box on how to set it up (even though other people seemly set it up the same as me) Broken with 2 hours of use I had to redo position my whole setup just to use it. Waste of time and money -$100.

Not the best looking, but very sturdy and easy-to-use
This is a review for Shure by Gator Deluxe Articulating Desktop Podcasting Mic Boom Arm with Cable Management Channel; (SH-BROADCAST1). The boom arm is very sturdy and relatively smooth. It does make a tiny bit of noise when spinning. It’s metal construction and feels premium. The tension rods, which control how easy it is to adjust, are easy to both loosen and tighten. There is a tension mount that is large enough to fit most desks and is relatively easy to tighten. I am not a fan of the fact that there’s an extra piece to fit the SM7B microphone. This arm is built for Shure - it should fit their microphones. The reason for the extra piece is so that your XLR cable can be plugged in. Otherwise, it hits one of the adjustable caps. The extra piece looks long and silly in my opinion. The Shure lettering also is a bit tacky for such a premium mount. The XLR cable channel is nice but a bit of a pain to manage. I had to squeeze the cable fasteners tight enough to pull them out, then use two fingers to open the fastener to get my cable through it. It was ultimately a 5+ minute job. That’s too long for a 4ft cable run, but at least it works. Overall, I’m happy with the sturdiness of the product and ease of adjustability. Setting it up was easy besides routing the cable, which you shouldn’t have to do often. My main concern is appearance. The bold Shure logo and long piece to fit the SM7B doesn’t look very good in my opinion.

Best Gator Arm I have owned.
My first experience with Gator Arms was not great. It fell apart. Diffrent Gator ARM. This one however works great, have owned it now for a few years and still works and looks like it is new out of the box and has not lost any mic sturdyness over time. I can still set the mic where I want and it doesn't fall due to wear and tear. If I ever get a second mic, I would 100% get this arm again. Also, the cable routing will take one XLR cable and one USB cable in the same clip. also, both fit in the cable routing hole. Sure MV7 XLR USB mic.

Works well even if you have limited desktop space.
I got this for my Sure SM7 mic for doing desktop audio recording. I don't have a lot of space for swing arms because my desk is tucked into a small home office corner. This connected to my desk easily, it came with an adapter so that I could connect my MVX2U interface plug (a thoughtful addition). Setup was easy and straight-forward. I love how the mic boom now just swings out of the way when I'm not using it. Great quality and heavy, sturdy boom that is just as quality as the rest of what Shure makes. Do make sure you have at least a 6-food shielded USB-C cable.

Sneu

Large and Robust Enough To Handle A Shure SM7B
This boom arm works great. It's large enough and strong enough to handle the weight of a Shure SM7B. It gets the mic up and overhead which allows me to make better use of my desk space. It's expensive but worth it when compared against cheaper and less robust options.

Parfait
Juste top-tier, l’installation facile, pas un ressort de visible contrairement à d'autres bras. Les cables se passent facilement. Rien à redire

Flimsy design. Will damage your heavy mics. Won’t recommend.
Almost damaged my sm7dB. The string inside broke from the attachment and the mic arm lost its hold all of a sudden and the mic fell down. In just one year this arm is now in the trash. Totally disappointed by seeing the flimsy design for an arm bragging about ability to hold heavy mics like sm7dB.
