Sword Fly Fishing Reel, CNC-Machined Aluminum Alloy Fly Reel

Initial impressions: surprisingly good quality! The finish on the reel is nice and the bearings are smooth. The drag is stronger than you’ll need and engages smooth. I’ve yet to take it to the water so I cannot attest to the quality of fly line they provide on the reel compared to a name brand high quality line, however, it looks and feels like it will work just fine. Overall, if you are just getting started in fly fishing without breaking the bank , it would be hard to go wrong with this reel. I bought it to piece together a cheap spare setup for teaching friends how to fly fish without worrying about expensive gear getting damaged, but I have a feeling I will end up buying another one for me to use as well.

There are so many supreme quality rods and reels that will take your arm or leg, and this brand is not one of them. Excellent quality, lovely price, machined beauty to behold, Piscifun fly reel will do everything other reels with eye-popping prices would do. I just took up on fly fishing, and initially, I bought from the seller 7/8 reel. Then 3/4, and 9/10 Sword reels from the same seller, because of the already mentioned qualities. 4/5/6 reel came with the rod I bought in a big box store. better known as "can't-get-out-under-$200 store." I did not intend to spend an exorbitant amount of money to equip myself for this brand-new hobby. The build quality, mechanical function, appearance--all beyond my satisfaction as a novice. The 3/4 reel, paired with Eagle Claw Featherlite 3 (yeah, cheap, but so nice) works charmingly. If I am going up the Sierras, I am taking this combo. I do not imagine I will ever saltwater fly fish, but I just wanted to have 9/10 reel, for the sake of the ownership. With the 7/8 reel, of course, I am going to land some monsters in the future. I especially liked the drag on these reels, so sensitive and positive in braking, from barely noticeable to the full stop; and very quiet and easy to adjust. People say pre-loaded lines are garbage, but I find them very good for my purpose. I have not caught any fish with these yet, but I am practicing, and getting better each time. Fishes, quake in your little holes! I'll be coming after you!

It’s an okay reel. It is just going to hold your fly line. The drag is an added benefit but doubt I’ll ever use that. Good for the money but there are others out there. Weight and balance on your fly fishing setup is important.

Great for trout fishing. I'll start by saying I don't believe reel quality is nearly as important as line, rod or skill but I do like quality gear. This reel is perfect for my needs. Great fit and finish. Looks premium minus the premium brand/cost and the drag is totally fine. Bought two for different line types, and to swap between rods. Now have several friends using this reel as well. Spend less $, get a great reel and spend more $ where it really matters!

Good bang for your buck. From little stockers to 5lbs. Drag is nice, reel is smooth and fly line is pretty good. Needed something cheap I cold throw around in the creeks and not have to worry much about

I have a lot of very nice expensive fly reels. I wanted a back up reel for my 9ft, 4wt Scott rod. For $50 I figured the Piscifun Sword 3/4 might serve a purpose as a good back up. If it was junk, I'd just return it. It arrived and it was a huge surprise to see the the fit and finish. The frame and spool are beautifully machined. The drag seems to work well, but on a 4wt rod there no need for a drag. There are zero machining marks anywhere on the reel. Honestly if you were to remove the name and logo and stamped it Ross, Nautilus, Galvin, etc., you wouldn't bat an eye. The finish and operation is that good, very smooth drag, very smooth retrieve. I have no doubt the durability will be just as good. This is the perfect reel for any 3wt or 4wt rod made. It looks great on the rod and balances perfectly.

All I can say is that this will make you wonder why you paid so much for all those big name reels in the past. Yeah, those $400 -$700 reels are great but really, this does what they do essentially and and I can use that extra money to take more trips. I promise I will catch just as many fish and not miss a thing. When I fish from the boat I usually have 3 more expensive reels with me and I find myself rigging the rod with this reel more often than not. And I have tested the drag often with heavy stripers on a 9 wt rod and it has not disappointed. Spend more if you wish but if you want to save some cash and get a nice reel for less than the price of most fly lines these days you won’t go wrong here. I’m going to get some smaller ones this year.

Produit impressionnant pour le prix. J’ai essayé des moulinets coutant le double qui semblaient plus cheap que celui-ci. Le frein est précis, le moulinet est léger. Il va très bien sur ma canne à truite. Avec une soie de 4 l’équilibre est maintenu. Vraiment ravi de mon achat. Première sortie, 3 truites ;)

Well built and great drag system. Nice sound and quick line retrieving. I would recommend this reel.
