Don't bother with third-party ink cartridges.
Like many people I was tempted by the cheaper third-party ink cartridges. After a few bad experiences it’s clear it's not worth the hassle. Using genuine Canon ink is the only way to go.The quality is consistently excellent. The colors are always vibrant and come out as I see on my screen and I've never had a single issue with clogged print heads or a cartridge that my printer refuses to recognize. Cannons original cartridges are more expensive, there's no getting around that. But what you're paying for is reliability and peace of mind. You know it's going to work every single time, and you won't risk damaging your printer. For guaranteed quality and a hassle free experience, it's worth every penny.

Genuine ink at a low cost
Product was exactly as described; name brand, correct tank number and color. It came in a very padded envelope via USPS. Note that the outer box was gone (likely to reduce ship weight), however the ink cartridge had the standard factory plastic seals and ink cap on it. It installed in the printer just fine and works as it should.

Let's be honest - this is where Canon makes their money
I have kids who need to print out a lot of things for school, so it was nice to find XXL ink tanks so I'm not replacing the tanks every 5 minutes. That said, geniune Canon ink is expensive. I personally find the fact that XXL ink tanks exist as being evidence that the regular ink tanks are only 1/2 full. Yes, they last longer, but they certainly charge you for it. It wouldn't surprise me if Canon loses money making the printers, because they more than make up for it on ink. A complete set of ink for my printer is the same money as the printer itself, best get used to it.
