Quiet and Lightweight 4800-Watt RV-Ready Portable Inverter Generator with Fuel Shut Off (56477i)

This generator has been a great purchase for my home. It provides reliable backup power during outages and runs smoothly without issues. The setup was simple, and the instructions were clear. I was impressed by how quickly it starts up and how much power it delivers — it easily handles my fridge, lights, and a few other essentials. It’s also not as loud as I expected, which is a big plus. The fuel efficiency is good, and the build feels durable and long-lasting.

I purchased this a year ago because some of the medication‘s that I take are stored in the refrigerator and are quite expensive. I got this as a backup so if the power goes out it can power the refrigerator. A medium sized freezer in the garage has done very well so far without any problems or issues just make sure to follow the instructions and do as they say, keep a check on the oil to make sure it’s at the proper level and make sure to start it once a month and do a generator test as recommended in the manual. It has started every time every month that a test has been done on it very very happy with my purchase very well built. The unit is quiet sturdy and runs very smoothly. highly recommend this unit and seems to be reasonably fuel efficient.

Following the manual’s advice helped me keep it in good shape; I regularly check the oil level, start it once a month, and perform the suggested tests. It has started every time without any trouble. I’m glad I chose this one because it feels sturdy and uses fuel reasonably well. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can count on it when needed.

We just lost power for 9 days during the Palisades fire and this generator shipped the day after I ordered and came in literally 20-ish minutes before our power went out. I had a neighbor help set it up and looked very easy to do. I was able to easily start it by myself and run multiple extension cords to power essentials. We plugged wifi, tv, phone chargers, refrigerator, deep freezer, cappuccino machine, and air fryer. When using the kitchen appliances we would unplug the deep freezer or refrigerator to make sure we didn’t exceed wattage. Very easy to just unplug and plug what was needed in. This saved us! The only thing I wish we could have done was plugged our water heater in and some better lighting. We are now looking at the higher wattage as we are already looking at another power shutoff Monday. I have recommended this one to so many people already! 9 straight days of use from the moment we took it out of the box. I recommend getting 50+ feet for the cords and power strips to plug in multiple things via extension cords. It ran all night long without going off from gas usage. We got 3 2gallon gas cans and a 5 gallon and used a siphoning device for that to transfer gas. It would last 8 hours easy on a tank. Easy peasy! I started it multiple times no husband needed. A child could operate easily. Very user friendly. Highly recommend. Great price and it’s very lovely looking and quiet. The guys that helped set me up asked me for the link bc they couldn’t believe how well it worked and how quiet it was. Thanks for saving our lives this last week +! I was unfamiliar with the Wen brand so was sceptical but the price was very good so I decided to purchase. I've been extremely satisfied with the purchase. I've got a couple hundred hours on the generator with zero issues. It's very quiet, especially for it's size. The plastic body is good quality. I had to put a high altitude kit on it which was easy to get from Wen directly and it was shipped promptly. The weight is manageable with the long telescoping handle and wheels. It's starts with a few pulls every time. The two things that kept me from a 5 star rating are the fuel level indicator which reads wrong sometimes. Also, the switch could be improved. The setting between choke and run is very "soft" and does not have a positive "click" when going from choke to run. Overall, I would purchase again and recommend.

Super quiet and works great. The handle makes it easy to roll around and the connections and directions are easy to understand. I use it for my camper but I live in FL so I also will be prepared for any storms that happen to come along. It starts on the first or second pull every time. Use ethanol free gas, use the fuel cutoff when you are not going to use it for more than a couple of days, do the break in and oil changes, and don't leave fuel sitting in it for a long time and it should last a long time. It's the perfect size to fit in the back of my truck with the tonneau cover on so it's hidden and it's not too heavy to lift or move around. This generator provided more than enough power for my 30amp camper and I used the AC, the microwave, lights, and who knows what else we had plugged in and there was hardly a noticeable power draw.

Great little Generator, easy to start and shutdown when needed. Using the 30amp plugin for a travel trailer and it powers the camper just fine. Follow the break in oil change recommendations and use non-ethanol gas and you should be fine.

UPDATE: I never imagined I’d be writing this. So, the first use was flawless. Camping trip was a success. Stored it per mfr recommendations. Now that I want to use it, IT WILL NOT START. I read a few reviews like this but now I’m experiencing this issue. I’m not new to small engine equipment and this is ridiculous. I cannot in good conscience recommend this unit. I’ve owned other WEN products over the years and was less than satisfied for many of them… until now. I needed an inverter generator for an RV trip that could completely support the RV. 4000w is what I needed and this was the best option on paper available in that power range. This unit ran the AC, lights, pumps, appliances without a hitch. This was not a temporary run but rather constant operation with exception of refeulling and an oil drop after the first 9hrs of constant operation. A total of 70+ hrs were run on this unit afterwards. The most surprising stat is how much runtime I got from a full tank. 12hrs at one point before running dry. I received many compliments from others about the noise level being so low. They all had open frame models that were definitely louder. I was unsure of this purchase but I’m now a believer. WEN, you changed my mind.
