Dyson V12 Highly Recommended
My daughter and my granddaughter both have one and said, mama you would love it! It’s light weight, hangs beautifully on wall holding two of the attachments plus the charger. I love the attachment with the light that shows every speck of dust! This machine has suction power. I’m very happy with my purchase!

Like hiring a cleaning person!
So I was in the market for a cordless vac. I live in a split level, so lugging around my (what I have always considered to be good) corded vac has always been annoying. I also have a one year old who loves to find crumbs or random things on the floor (and also leave them) and the cleaning and keeping up of the house generally is more difficult while taking care of said one year old. I hate sweeping, I hate lugging the vacuum. I honestly was ready to go for a Shark brand, but a friend with a Dyson and toddler really urged me to consider Dyson. Thank goodness for Prime day! I got a fantastic deal on this so i decided to go for it. HOLY CRAP. What have I been putting this off for?! Even full price this thing is worth it. It truly does have an amazing suction power. I vacuumed up my living room dining area and thought it was pretty good. I had guests over and vacuumed after they left. Tell me how I had two full canisters! I am realizing how dirty my house is? (It really isn’t but this thing shows you how much you really have lurking in rugs and what not! Add to the AMAZING portability. I can so easily just keep entire areas of the house consistently clean now, it truly is saving my sanity. No cords for my toddler to chase, no dangerous maneuvering around or over her, and I can quickly clean up a mess away from her before having to go back and check she hasn’t destroyed something. The battery isn’t amazing but I expected to have a “time limit” with any cordless vacuum. I like that I can change the suction mode to preserve life if I need to. And it’s so easy to put in the dock to charge back up. It doesn’t even matter to me if I can’t vacuum for hours (who would !) In all honesty this is saving my sanity. I love my space clean and tidy and that really was feeling impossible to achieve lately. And my kid is finding less random bits of things on the floor to eat and have me run after her for, hooray!

Took a risk on Prime Day and this vacuum exceeded my expectations
This is my first Dyson vacuum and I’m considering myself a full convert. I’ve owned several off brand ones from Amazon and recently had to replace an old one because it wouldn’t hold a charge. Since I bought it on Prime Day, I only had a couple of Dyson models to choose from. I knew I wanted a model where you didn’t have to hold down a trigger button while you’re vacuuming, and decided this model was the best for me. People mostly complain about the size of the canister, but it is perfect for my small apartment and maintains a slim profile for easy storage. I don’t even have to empty it after each use, but I also want to take good care of it and avoid too much build up. My expectations were also very much exceeded in terms of quality. I know it’s expensive, but I was still surprised how nice it felt just to hold this vacuum. Even if the dust meter is a gimmick like some people have said, I enjoy it. I also don’t mind removing the attachment to empty the dust canister because I find it easy to switch between several attachments while I vacuum. It’s very simple and lightweight, which I appreciate because usually I would stick to one attachment and put the rest in the back of a closet. It brings me joy to use this vacuum and it’s also powerful. I’ve never invested in a vacuum like this before and it’s a game changer. If you you relate at all to the above you can stop overthinking and buy it already!

Using the green laser will most likely require several therapy sessions
We love Dyson products. We have the vacuum, fans/air purifiers, and the hair dryer. Great products that we stand behind. We had to replace our old Dyson after 8 years (the battery was giving out and it was time for an upgrade). This is a fantastic vacuum - it literally sucks. Gets the dirt, dust, hairs, etc. Lightweight, lots of attachments, cordless, easy to clean. But we're here to talk about the laser. You've seen the ads for this laser light. Very clever. Shows you where the dirt is. *Pulls up a therapy couch, box of tissues, scans your insurance card, adjusts glasses.* We as a species are disgusting. Even when you think your house is clean, it is NOT. The moment you finish vacuuming a room, more dust magically appears. It taunts you. The light shines into the dark recesses of your mind and into those hard-to-reach areas under your nightstand and makes you question your hygiene habits. "How do you live with yourself? Your cleanliness is a lie." If you suffer from OCD, this is NOT the product for you. This will drive you the brink of insanity. There is an option to turn off the light. This is now my default option. Do not buy this product for the laser. Go with the non-laser version. But buy a Dyson because they are great. *I am not compensated for this review, I just really like our Dyson stuff.*

You will regret this “ maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life”
Unfortunately, Amazon does not give a zero star rating because this is worth zero stars. For the first two years, I would’ve given it five stars and sadly, I’m sure I convinced other people to make my mistake and buy one. This product does not meet Dyson Standards. It has terrible design flaw that you can’t see when you first buy it. The plastic gasket that is attached to the metal wand, with minimal time, wears down to the point where it will no longer attach to the wand. There is no way to fix it or rig it up at home because the plastic that seats down into the wand, over time, becomes nonexistent. I have made three attempts to replace the wand from vendors on Amazon that are not Dyson- all three times the wand does not fit. It’s close, but not close enough for the vacuum to work. As a last result, I contacted Dyson and although I paid a lot of money for a vacuum that now doesn’t work two years later, I was willing to pay anything for the wand replacement. Unfortunately, the wand cannot be found for sure. When I called Dyson over a week ago, I gave my credit card and ordered the part. I got an invoice that said my part was ordered but two days later, I got an email that says it’s on backorder for between two and three weeks and that they will let me know when it is in stock again. This may or may not be true because after four phone calls to Dyson, I got four different answers as to the status of my replacement part which more than a week out does not have a tracking number and nobody knows where it is for sure -or if it’s coming at all. So here I have a $600- two year old vacuum that does not work and that cannot be fixed, and Dyson is completely unapologetic about the situation. I am to patiently wait and see if the part comes back in stock. I would challenge you to go on Reddit and do more research. Don’t take my word for it. I wish that I had done more research, but I made my purchase strictly on the Dyson name and the Dyson products that I have had in the past. At best, I will have been without a vacuum a month at worse the part is indefinitely on back order… 2 weeks, 3 weeks …they will let me know when they know. Dyson has not suggested a remedy or any help for my problem. As far as they’re concerned two years is out of warranty and it is my problem - don’t let it become yours. Do not buy this vacuum. The picture that I’m including is just showing you how I’ve attempted to attached the wand-not only did it not work, the problem can’t be fixed because it’s actually a lip on the plastic piece that fits down into the tube. The plastic piece is not cracked or broken, it is simply not there as it has worn down overtime with normal use.

Fantastic vacuum!
The best part of this vac is the green laser. It makes vacuuming like a videoDyson. (I have a son on the spectrum and this makes it so much easier for him to vacuum based on what shows up in the laser light) In dim lighting you can see everything on your floors that need removal. If you have ocd you might or might not like it. The battery run time is great and has a timer, I haven't run out of charge yet. The dirt container is small but really not a problem. I have hardwood floors and 2 cats and it still does fine. Emptying is easy and quick. Stairs are quick and easy too. Only complaint is that the filter on top needs frequent cleaning even though its not really dirty, so i bought 2 extras to have for quick replacement. I highly recommend it although it's pricy. I bought on prime day at under $500. Honestly it is still worth it whatever you pay. I have wasted money on alot of cheaper brands and got what I paid for, only to finally buy something good like this dyson. UPDATE. Still great months later. I even added a few crevice attachments and a 3ft hose.

This thing sucks in the best of ways
I loved using this on my rugs after years of using a super cheap vacuum. Reminded me just how vivid the rug used to be. It’s super easy to use, it’s not heavy, and has no issue picking up tracked cat litter or food crumbs because I have the sloppiest cats on the planet. I’ve found the battery life to be reasonable for my needs, but covering a full two bed two bath apartment definitely needs an additional charge now that I’m in an apartment with more carpet. If you have pets the canister will fill quickly, less so when my dog passed (bless him but he had a double coat and I never knew peace). It’s not a deal breaker since it would most likely make the vacuum heavier, but this could be a deal breaker for some. I have no issues maneuvering, and the attachments make it easy to get into corners and along the edges. The length makes it easy to reach under furniture as well. The wall mount is perfect and, while I’m lucky to have an outlet in the closet where it’s stored, the profile is low enough that it occupies a small footprint elsewhere. Highly recommend if you’re ready to buy a nice cordless vacuum, and even bought one for a friend.

Spectacular, Game-Changing, but slow-charging
This thing is a game-changer!!! First, let's get out of the way the only negative: this thing takes a LONG time to charge. Might be less than 1% per minute. So, if the battery goes in the middle of a cleaning job, you'll have to wait 1.5 to 2 hours to get full charge again. And 30 minutes just to get a little charge back. Therefore, if you don't mind the extra wait,, perhaps the bigger models have bigger batteries (not sure if they charge faster). OK! Now on to the awesomeness: - THIS THING IS A GAME-CHANGER: there is no going back once you experience the green laser light. It's actually better to vacuum in slight darkness - you can see EVERYTHING. OMG, your floors are going to look gross under this light. But awesome afterwards. Downside: you can't stop vacuuming, because you see all the dust on the floor. - PERFECT FOR FLOOR RUGS: works better than big vacuums on thin-pile floor rugs, because the brush gets so low. Also PERFECT FOR PET BEDS. - AWESOME FOR HARD SURFACES: the attachment is awesome, the articulation allows you to get everywhere. - A BIT SMALL FOR LARGE AREAS: not sure if the bigger model has wider attachments, but doing large areas with this thing takes forever, since the head is so small. But the upside is you can get almost anywhere. - CAN GET UNDER ALMOST ANYTHING: You can actually still vacuum while the device is flat to the ground. Perfect for getting under beds, and complex places with carpet. - VERY LIGHT: easy to maneuver anywhere. But, if you're stronger, I'd go for the larger size model. - CLEANING THE CONTAINER IS EASY: Cleverly designed that if you keep moving the articulating bin downwards, towards the garbage after you've opened it, it collects all the hair/fibers for you. Very smart. - AUTO-DETECT? ARE YOU KIDDING? This thing, amazingly, detects particle size AND volume, and increases power when you hit a dirtier area on the Auto setting. Un. Bee. Leev. Able. - RANGE: you probably would not be able to do 2,000 sq ft on a single charge. Certainly not carpet - but you might be able to for hardwood floors - ONLY on the automatic setting. BOOST setting drains the battery too fast, and I don't think you need to have this on all the time. AUTOMATIC seems to work great BOTTOM LINE: Pricey, but worth it. Enough power, range/time is not too bad, game-changing laser to help you clean hard surfaces to perfection, plenty of suction power. Charging time is terribly slow, so perhaps this model is best for smaller spaces (under 2k sq ft?).
