Since the pencil is short, it forces them to hold it closer to the pencil tip which facilitates handwriting and encourages a proper pencil hold. The extra thickness also again helps with the grip pencils also seem to last longer than the thinner versions, and I feel like the quality is also better very happy that this option exists.

I love this kids and toddler sized pencils ! My daughter is three and has been practicing her number and letters and these pencils are a game changer!! The triangle shape is really making her have to properly grip the pencil but in a natural and comfortable way for her hands. They are kind of grippy so her fingers are sliding down the pencil when she is writing. The came pre sharped, and very colorful with plenty of Eraser on the tip! Good quality pencils I will definitely be ordering more as we progress through homeschool!! I absolutely recommend, these are great quality and a good price! Happy writing

I absolutely love these short pencils for my 5 year old! They’re the perfect size for little hands and make it much easier for him to hold the pencil correctly while he’s learning to write. I’ve noticed that they give him better control, and he’s more comfortable practicing his letters and words. I bought these while teaching my child how to write, hoping the thicker design would make learning easier. Every child is different, but in our experience, these didn't work as well as I expected. My child actually became frustrated. We ended up having much better success using a regular sized pencil with a pencil grip instead. That said, I do think these could be a great option for children who need a thicker writing utensil for comfort or grip strength. They just weren't the right fit for helping my child learn proper pencil placement.

Our 6-year-old is in Grade 1, and these Ticonderoga My First Short Triangular pencils have been a total upgrade from the flimsy school-supplied ones. Used every day for homework, journaling, and drawing for the past couple weeks — they’re now her go-to for everything.
