Q: What is the difference between this stone (king 6000 grit deluxe water stone) and the king 6000 grit whetstone s-1?

These are in King's "Super Finishing Stone" series of 4000, 6000 and 8000 grit polishing stones. They are King's best finishing stone which fits within its professional series of KDS stones. The only difference between the King 6000 grit S-1, S-2 and S-3 stones are their size. Otherwise they are the same stone. Generally, high grit polishing stones wear less, since you are polishing and not "cutting" metal from the blade. Even the 15mm stone should last a long time unless you are a professional sharpener polishing numerous knives every day. The smaller stone is also cheaper. However, if you are sharpening a lot of large knives, such as large chef knives, then you may want the bigger stone for the larger surface area. King Super Finishing Stone 6000 sizes are as follows: S-1 #6000 210 X 73 X 22mm S-2 #6000 190 X 70 X 20mm S-3 #6000 185 X 62 X 15mm

Q: Does this come with a nagura stone?

The purchase I made did not. However, I did purchase a Nagura stone and it will put a very nice edge on your blade.

The body size is approx. 18.5 x 6.2 x 1.5 cm (7.3 x 2.4 x 0.6 inch).

Q: Is this a water stone, in other words do I need to soak it for 15 minutes or so before using?

No, don't soak this #6000 grit stone. It is too fine for soaking, which will weaken the stone. You can confirm this for yourself when you splash water onto the surface and the water just sits there rather than soaking in. I have a #400/#1000 combo stone that does need soaking before use, but this #6000 stone does not. Just splash and go, and splash more on as needed. YOU DON'T SOAK FINISHING STONES.
