I am not a plumber or handyman but do enjoy DIY projects to save $ on basic household repairs. This product was a perfect solution for my application. For some reason the toilets in our house are mounted below the tile making for a considerable gap between the bottom of the toilet and the flange in the floor. I installed a toilet upstairs about 6 years ago. Recently we noticed some water around the base and the bolts that attach the bowl to the floor had rusted. I checked to make sure no water was dripping from the tank. It was not so I knew it was coming from underneath. After some research I came to the conclusion our wax ring needed replacement. I started by buying an extra thick wax ring to replace the existing one. I installed it and noticed the bolts included were not long enough and the wax ring despite being advertised as extra thick was still not thick enough. In need of a different solution so I began researching. My research led me to this product. I ordered it and received it same day. I loved the way the wax ring is incorporated into it and the hardware included accommodated my recessed flange. I used the extensions for the bolts and the thicker ring to flange setup. The fit was perfect. It was great that the installation guide was very easy to understand and follow. I also like the fact you use the parts included to not only install it but also to tighten the bolts from the bowl to the floor. Using these allows you to get them tight but also prevent over tightening which can be a problem for me. I did not like how the caps installed and was unable to get them to stay on properly. Other than that the product worked flawlessly. I wish I would have purchased this first since the extra thick wax ring I bought ended up in the garbage since it didn’t work. I plan to install this product on my other toilets as the flange for them also sits below the flooring. High quality product. Easy installation with detailed instructions. Very responsible pricing. Accommodates recessed flange. I am very pleased.

I rarely write reviews, but this one deserves it. I had to replace an upstairs toilet, and upon removing the existing one, noticed the flange was about 1/4" - 1/2" under the level of the floor due to the tile installation in the bathroom. I tried an extra thick wax ring, I tried doubling up wax rings - these options worked to keep watertight, but it kept leaking sewer gas - not good. I did a tremendous amount of research, talked to friends, supply house folks, and everyone that would listen to me about plumbing. This product was worth every penny more than a regular wax ring. As a general homeowner, and above average DIYer - I'm definitely not a plumber. Setting toilets is harder than it looks, and I'm a stickler for perfection. Not a great combo with wax rings. This made is supremely easy! It installed quick, helped shore up the level gap, and with a single push, the wax sealed the flange, and allowed me the ability to reset the toilet as many times as I needed to in order to get it perfect. (3 was the number). The kit includes literally everything you might need, so if youre toolbox is light, not to worry. Parts are well thought through, and include little rubber tips that make initial toilet alignment a breeze by comparsion. The bolts and their system are thoughtful, and require no cutting, regardless of the height you're working with. It's been 3 days since install, and so far so good. I'm expecting this to last at least the length of the warranty period (10 years). This feels like the best advancement in an archaic methodology, and combines the best of what works (wax) with what makes it easy (rubber).

Perfect, perfect, perfect. I just installed it and OMG it was sooo much easier than anything ever before. Original owner tiled above the flange and there was just too much height difference. Truly a better mousetrap, so to speak! Bought a double thick ring last time and needless to say, it didn’t do the trick, but magically this did! Time will tell as far as durability, but it feels like a solid seal and I’m happy! I know it more expensive, but if you have any doubts about a standard wax ring working - get this, you won’t regret it! Will never install another toilet with anything else! Thank you!!

I used only the mounting hardware from this kit, but having set a toilet or two, I can say it was the easiest install ever. For those confused about the "wrenchless" tightening method, the kit includes a flat piece of rigid plastic that slips between the the stainless bolt and the toilet base. This plastic piece is slotted allowing it to grip the head of the bolt and is large enough for the user to easily grip it to tighten. The entire plastic piece is wide enough to serve as a washer to distribute the bolt's clamping force, and it also serves as the base for the low-profile caps that cover the bolts. Quick and easy; just the way I like it. My only complaint: I wish the plastic wrench/washer was larger in diameter. This is due to the plastic wrench/washer having a tendency to slip off-center if the slots on your toilet's base for the mounting bolts are relatively wide. This doesn't affect the toilet's mounting integrity, but it will make it impossible to fit the decorative cap over the bolt. I got around this by making sure the plastic wrench/washer was centered before final tightening, then installing the decorative cap and tightening the cap and the bolt together.

I do not know how long this will last compared to wax, but it is wonderful product. I have not set a toilet in 25 years. I was a bit concerned but gave it a shot. Boy am I glad I did! This kit is excellent. Very well thought out and executed. everything you need to cover ever situation, which is what I needed. I wasn't sure what I was doing or what I needed. This kit made it work out very well. I was able to set it, pull it off to fix a wobble, and reset it successfully. An old pro may not need it, but it sure helped this DIYer install my new TOTO

Everything needed for installation is included, and the Perfect Seal design creates a strong, reliable seal without the usual mess. The adjustable Zero Cut bolts are a huge improvement since there’s no need to measure or cut excess bolt length. Installation felt more forgiving, especially being able to reposition the toilet before fully securing it. The seal feels solid and leak-free, and the overall quality is excellent for both DIY homeowners and professionals. Highly recommended if you want a cleaner, simpler toilet installation experience.

Pretty easy once you know how to do it but the instructions need to be bit clear because the first time I installed it, it was leaking and I thoguht I had it installed properly. Also, the claim about readjustment is not 100% true.

Let me start by saying that I had purchased a new Kohler toilet and installed it using fluid masters better than wax seal. Well, it was NOT better than wax. Had to pull the toilet twice due to leaks and once due to sewer gas smell. On the 3rd time removing the toilet, I replaced the fluid master better than wax seal with this danco perfect seal. Danco is not lying about the name, it made a perfect seal on the first attempt! The combination of wax and rubber in this product sealed the toilet perfectly to the flange. EDIT: it's now been about 3 months and no issues have arisen. I expect many years of trouble free use. The kit came with everything needed to install on the flange and the instructions were good. Danco has a few YouTube videos showing the process, but suffice it to say it is straight forward and almost impossible to mess up. I will definitely be using the danco perfect seal in the future any time the need arises! Double Edit: just installed another toilet and used this product again. Worked perfectly on the first attempt, just like last time. No water leakage and no sewer gas odor.

Very good product. Installed on a 109 pound 1 piece toilet. No leaks so far after 3 weeks.

I’ve installed many toilets using just wax seals and it works pretty well if you’re careful to line up the toilet carefully. But these are next level. Really straight forward once you figure out how the seal mounts to the flange. No worries about not being lined up properly it’s absolutely fool proof. I could install my next toilet with just a wax seal but why would I? It doesn’t matter if your flange is above the floor or below the floor it’s a perfect seal every time just follow the instructions with are quite detailed.
