After enjoying my first evening of the summer in my backyard, I was getting bit up and forced indoors. I jumped on Amazon in search of a solution. The Gootop was priced right and seemed effective. I really liked the 'plug and play' ease of use of this zapper. Within a minute of the initial plug-in I heard my first pop. I sat on my back patio for two-hours bite free as the sound of the zaps was music to my ears. I connected the 3-prong cord to the end of some string lights that hung on my fence (and loosened the end bulbs on the string). This now gave me a dark corner for optimal lighting to attract the bugs instead of the lighting that I use to gather at. Mosquitos, moths, and whatever else was flying around seemed to be attracted to the Gootop. Popping and smoking, I could literally see the smoke and hear the sizzle as bugs were getting vaporized! I set up the zapper up about 25-feet from where we gather, and about 6-feet off the ground on my fence. I wrapped the excess cord around a lantern hook, keeping it free from pets and people tripping. I noticed inside of the collection tray is a space to install Octenol mosquito attractant cubes similar to what Flowtron zappers use. This will make the unit even more effective and I have ordered some as well. Turn on at dusk, a dark corner about 25-feet from your gathering spot are keys to making this thing a success. Highly recommended!

I purchased this bug zapper in July 2023. It's bright, which attracted and zapped flies and other flying insects. I couldn't find a replacement bulb on Amazon when the bulb burned out recently. I contacted the Seller for assistance in finding the correct replacement bulb. Instead of providing me with this information, the Seller asked for my address so they could send me a new bug zapper. Additionally, the Seller informed me that I would receive the replacement in 5 - 7 days, but it arrived in 3 days. The Seller's customer service was superb and exceeded my expectations.

We had a weird abundance of some very large, black moths that kept flying throughout our house shortly after moving in. We figure there must have been a nest or something of them because we would see 1-2 each day over a couple weeks. I searched for a “moth killer” and this was the result. It is outdoor rated, which is nice, and I plan on buying a third one of these things for right outside the sliding glass door to the backyard. I had purchased 1 of these and within a few days I knew I wanted another one. It WORKS. This product is amazing…. Big or small bugs… I know it will work on even the largest of the flying insects because it worked fast on the moths flying throughout my entire home, upstairs and downstairs. Those moths were some of the largest moths I’ve ever seen in my life. With this product those black, giant months were totally eliminated quick with these bug zappers!!! And it works for smaller bugs too. We live in Vegas where it’s 110+ everyday during the summer and this summer brought smaller flying bugs after the moth party was over. One day, my husband left out, with the lid removed, a little plastic container of strawberries blueberries blackberries and raspberries. The fruit was old and should’ve went into the trash, that’s why he didn’t put it in the fridge… but forgetting to put it into our trashcan with the lid closed was a big mistake. I woke up the next morning and went down to the kitchen to find a plethora of gnats dancing all around my kitchen, especially around that container of fruit. It was gross. I hate gnats because they could land on dog poop, then fly into your house and land on your fruit.. contaminating it with feces. So disgusting. I am an avid hater of all bugs of all kinds.. but gnats get my sweet spot from the memory of an old apartment I lived in which had gnats galore. In the past, I would use shot glasses full of red wine with a splash of dish soap covered with plastic cling wrap that had toothpick holes poked into the plastic on top. That worked well, however I ended up throwing away every shot glass I used (full of gnats) because it grossed me out. Plus, if one gets knocked over? Its bad. Not only red wine but also dirty gnats contaminated into the red wine! Yuck! This bug zapper allowed me to be free from the shot glasses carefully placed around the house to be out of reach of my toddler… this bug zapper killed all the many gnats (50+) in my kitchen that one awful morning and it also rid my home of large black moths nesting throughout my vents. This bug zapper is safe, love that it is a chemical free option to deter pests. I had some sticky UV light traps but they are no match to this zapper. The zap kinda is loud sometimes and might take a couple days to get used to, but it is a sweet sound. The sound of bugs being fried to the core. When I empty it out, I look at what is remaining in the zapper’s lower basin, and they don’t even look like gnats. They turn into like little flakes of grinded black pepper. This zapper FRIES them!!! I don’t know why but I LOVE knowing that they are so beyond dead it’s not even funny! 😆 Now that they’ve been in my home for a few months, standing strong, I rarely hear a zap unless the front door or back door was just opened from somebody walking in or out. At first it was zap zap zap all night and for the next few days… now I notice it’s rare to hear it zap more than once or twice per day (at least that’s all I hear when I’m home and awake). It doesn’t wake me from my sleep at all. It’s quiet and quick and few and far in between after the initial set up of the zapper. My fav part is once every couple weeks or so I hear the zapper do a HUGE ZAaaaaaAAaAaaAaAP out of the blue. I wish I knew what it may be zapping, but if I were to check it would just be fried to pieces… whatever that major zap is every so often, I thank this bug zapper for making me totally unaware of whatever the hell it was that was flying throughout my home! Love this zapper BUY IT, I BOUGHT TWO CAUSE THEYRE GREAT AND WOULD PURCHASE AGAIN FOR MY BACKYARD. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Great product, if I were trying to get general flying insects. My problem was a huge European Hornet nest that infiltrated my garage. Normally, I ignore the flying insects, but these guys eat honey bees and they live right next to my garden. Plus they were are in the path to my chickens. So I purchased this and gave it a try. We got a few of them, as shown, but not nearly enough to any significant damage to the nest numbers. So grab this if mosquitoes or flies are your problem. If European Hornets are your issue, I highly recommend a shop vac. Google “European Hornets and Wet/Dry Vac.” Worked like a charm with zero stings. Good luck!

Its like music to my ears the popping sound made by the zapper when insects are drawn in and removed from my space. Although flying insects are attracted, I placed mine on the garage floor where it also attracts and zaps crawling bugs and insects that don't fly. I highly recommend this zapper to anyone who wants to be insects free in their space. Its of great value to me.

Plug & zap! It's amazingly light so we didn't expect much when we first hung it. We were surprised at how well it works! Zaps, bugs fall, open the bottom and dump the bugs. That simple. We are very pleased & will be buying another to gift to our daughter who has created a great outdoor entertainment area but has an issue with bugs. Highly recommend.

It’s great, first time got a mosquito scared me, a little loud but now I’m used to it and I really like it, it’s light weight and you can put it anywhere.

First night using it at our deer camp!! Works really well. Will be buying another for our travel trailer for when we go RVing
