Linux Mint Cinnamon Bootable USB for PC

It saved me so much stress and money in trying to recover files from a dead hard drive. Yes, lesson learned - everything is well backed up now. But, this worked perfectly to briefly resurrect the system long enough to be able to pull off every file that we needed - the system was up for easily 10-12 hours and then shut down again. But, so grateful to find this product. Highly recommended!

User friendly installation. Should’ve done this 5 years ago, absolutely revived a 14 year old laptop. Excellent for giving an old device another chance, pass along to a family/friend. Thank you, extremely satisfied with purchase.

Windows 11 won the battle. Mint would not load as a replacement OS or as a dual boot. Eventually the USB stick was corrupted. I do not blame the stick.

Four stars! One, because it got me started on Linux Mint! Two, because it was easy to install! Three, because it's only the 19.2 version, and if you're building a brand new system from scratch, like I did, you will still need to upgrade to the 19.3 version, or you're graphics drivers might not work! Four, because you can go to the Linux website and download the latest version for free!

Great product works as advertised. But you do have to do some initial programming work ahead of time. Go to mrchrombox.tech for instructions. Very helpful.

Old PC, installation went perfect, it will take some getting use too doing things the Linux way but if you can do windows then you should be able to learn Linux. The unit seemed to like it and does things quicker. I did find that some of my hardware was not compatible but it was only the Wi-Fi adapter, found one that was so no biggie there. Dual monitor setup went great. So still learning but so far all is good.

Plug it in, boot from USB and mint is on the way. Note: I am using on an old MacBook air. This USB does not come with apple hardware WiFi proprietary drivers, mine was Broadcom. It is a known thing with older apple products. This is not too say anything is wrong with THIS, just be aware. But it's a super clean install. Very compatible. I had to Ethernet for the Wi-Fi driver. But most distros have a pile of updates after install, this did too. But the preset USB makes it so much easier and faster. I would buy again. fast shipping to solve my problem.

I purchased this LINUX USB device to learn a bit about LINUX during our COVID ‘lock-down’. It does function as intended BUT not on all my PCs. I intended to use this device with my old Windows XP Home Edition (SP3) PC, an eMACHINES EL-1300G-01W. However, it will not 'boot' on that PC: "no boot device found" error message. it became evident that NOT ALL PCs are capable of ‘booting’ from a USB thumb drive. One major obstacle is being able to disable ‘secure boot’ and enable ‘legacy devices’ in the PC’s BIOS setup so that the correct boot device can be selected. Even with this done, my older PCs CAN NOT boot from this device. If you have any doubts about your PC, I suggest that you test the PC by creating a bootable USB LINUX thumb drive (pendrive). FREE downloads of the necessary files, along with instructions, can be found on the internet. I recommended that, unless you are certain of your PC's capability, you do test your PC prior to purchasing this device.

No complaints. Just didn't help my unbootable computer!

It did not boot despise I just other Linux usb sticks on my computer. The stick is only 8 gb so not much I could have done with it.
