Love it
Got tired of messing with the old Echo power head with attachments. No matter what I did, or how I stored it, it seemed like I had to mess with the carb 2-3 times a year. It was almost 20 years old and time for an upgrade. Loved the Ego blower, so rolled the dice on the power head with the line trimmer. I like that you can buy the power head and use it with the batteries I got with the blower or chainsaw. Plenty of power, way more than the old echo power head. Followed up with the pole saw and hedge trimmer attachments, and so far it’s all fantastic. Well build and sturdy, plenty of power.

YES this is the one.
This is one bad ass trimmer! I usually go through at least 1 different brand of trimmer per season, but this one is still going strong. The auto line feeder is fantastic and easy to use. It performs just as well or better than my gas trimmer, but no gas, no pull start, no wondering if it is going to start, and no replacement motor parts. Battery will last long enough till you are ready for a break. Get an alternating battery and never stop. The power this thing has is amazing. I use it for ditches, hillsides weeds, ,brush, and am a lot harder on it than I should be and it just keeps rippin'.

BEST Battery Op Yard equipment on the market? Read on to find out.
First, and most important: Pay close attention to the item you are purchasing. I first purchased a PS1000-FC POLE SAW (PS) with a Telescoping Power Head. Absolutely love it. Not just for limbing trees, but cutting Multi-Flora rose, and Russian Olive (if you are tending acreage). The Pole Saw is a "Stand Alone" tool, which I discovered after I purchased a 'String Trimmer Attachment' (STA) that I thought would connect to the Telescoping Power Head (PH). It did not. (Hence: Stand Alone Tool.) This review is of the newly purchased PH1420FC Power Head, in combination with the STA1600-FC String Trimmer. The (FC) stands for Carbon Fiber Shaft. Worth the up-charge in my opinion. This combination is awesome! To be honest, I can not compare this set-up to any other Battery operated tool on the market, because it's the first Battery Op. I've owned. And I can't guarantee it will last as long as my Gas powered STIHL FS80 which has been tearing up landscapes for over 12years, but, it's quiet, no fumes and cuts great. "Know what you're purchasing." All the eGO tools seem to come with a 56-Volt battery. No aye problemo. BUT, they come in different Amp Hours (AH). I purchased a package deal with a Battery, Charger, and String trimmer STA1500 (which I returned for the 1600FC). This battery was 2.5 AH (Amp Hour), which on the above mentioned assembly weed wacked (on high speed) for only about 10 minutes before the battery was spent. I am now switching to the 5 AH battery, which I will try on Low speed, and hope it has a better duration. Raining where I am right now, so I'll update when I see how that goes. When I had the 5 AH battery on the Pole Saw, it cut for over 45 minutes of tough brush without complaint. "Update: 22May2025" I have run the (STA) several times now with both the 2.5AH and the 5AH batteries. Duration is not good. Not getting more than 15 mins of cutting time, even at the slow speed. The 5AH makes the tool a lot heavier, and I am finding the need to constantly adjust the shoulder strap and the location of the handle strap to take the pressure off the trigger arm. I am 6'-4". It does a great job cutting, and to be fair, I am cutting over 1500 feet of fence line, as well as other areas around the house and farm. It may be, if you live in a development, and maintaining only an 1/8th or a half acre you would not have these issues.

Great for doing lots of things in the yard
I've bought multiple products from EGO Power+ and all of them have been excellent. The power head continues that trend. I bought it because I needed to do some hedge trimming and some brush cutting. The head is nicely shaped and nicely balanced and comes with a handle and a shoulder strap--that's a good touch that wasn't always included in other tools. The shaft is carbon fiber, makes it strong and light. It didn't come with a battery or charger. That suited me because I already have 3 chargers and 4 batteries from other EGO tools and they work well with this head, so it was nice to not pay extra for something I didn't need. I got an extension, a hedge trimmer, and a bush cutter to use with this head. They were all very simple to snap on, had a good fit, and were easy to take off and change to other tools as needed. The motor has plenty of power and, as mentioned above, works with all my EGO batteries. I've been able to use it to trim several trees and shrubs both with and without the extension pole and I've used it to clear some fairly solid brush. All of that was done with the motor on low speed and it went through everything (including saplings a bit over an inch in diameter) with no problems whatsoever. There are several other attachments I'm looking forward to buying to use with this head. Very happy with this purchase and strongly recommend it.

design is good but for seniors who handles this with the attachments, including the battery which carries quite a load, its very heavy to work for a long period. battery plus the whole attachments must reduce substantial weight for seniors. otherwise, its not ment for seniors.

This is great until you attach the battery, then it's heavy.
