The Diploma in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery (DOHNS) is now an intercollegiate examination, and can count towards membership of one of the surgical colleges of Great Britain. The DOHNS has evolved to fit its new role, leaving little up-to-date material available for candidates preparing for the written component. This book by former DOHNS candidates meets that need, focusing on topics that are likely to be examined. Each answer is accompanied by an explanation using current evidence-based research wherever possible. This will be an essential revision text for all DOHNS candidates. 'Applicable to medical students and trainee doctors in general practice as well as ENT and related head and neck disciplines such as neurology and neurosurgery. Each question is followed by the correct answer and clear and concise explanation. Indeed, it is the quality of this additional information that makes this book stand out from its competitors. It provides the student with experience and examination technique in answering these questions, but additionally it is a teaching volume in its own right. It is a credit to its enthusiastic and very competent young teachers in its content, design and clarity, and is another excellent contribution to our thriving specialty.' - from the Foreword by David Howard Review: Five Stars - Very good. Review: Good content let down by poor quality printing - The content is really good, but the answers are on the reverse of each page, and it's all printed on such thin paper that you can easily see what the answers are supposed to be for the majority of the questions.

The best book for DOHNS Part A
I have taken the DOHNS Part A this January and passed it with a good mark using this book and the "Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery" O.S.H. in Surgery. I did not use on-line question banks. The questions were set up similarly to the exam and the explanations helped to reinforce the material. I definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of taking the exam.

Brilliat book for DOHNS Part-1
I have find this book very useful because of 1) MCQs on almost all important ENT topics relevant to the exam are written 2) Very focused and good explanation of MCQs 3) No any other MCQ book available in the market so far which is solely for DOHNS part-1 exam therefore ,I strongly recommend this book!
