desertcart.com: My Fault (Culpable, 1): 9781728290737: Ron, Mercedes: Books Review: if you love the “we shouldn’t, but we can’t stop” trope? You’ll be in heaven. - Reading My Fault was like being strapped into a rollercoaster that never slows down messy, chaotic, addictive, and impossible to look away from. I went in expecting a tropey, fast-paced romance, and what I got was a heavy dose of emotional drama with a side of morally questionable choices and a big, glittery bow of forbidden love wrapped around it. Let’s talk about Noah a girl who’s been through it. She’s tough, sarcastic, and a walking vault of trauma. You feel for her, even when she makes decisions that make you want to scream into a pillow. She’s been forced to grow up too fast, and there’s a real ache in watching her try to figure out where she belongs in a world that’s tossed her around more times than she deserves. And then there’s Nick, her new stepbrother. He’s that classic bad boy: tattooed, angry, reckless, and emotionally unavailable until he isn’t. The sexual tension between them is undeniable, the forbidden aspect only adds fuel to the fire, and while some of it felt over-the-top, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t devour every angsty, drawn-out, tension-filled moment. It’s messy, sure. But if you love the “we shouldn’t, but we can’t stop” trope? You’ll be in heaven. Now, full honesty: This book isn’t for everyone. (BUT IT WAS DEFINITELY FOR ME) It has problematic elements emotional manipulation, unhealthy relationship dynamics, and trauma being used as plot fuel a little too casually. As a woman, I cringed at some of the normalization of toxic behavior. But I also understand the appeal: it’s raw, heightened, fantasy-level dramatics that speak to that chaotic part of you that loves hard and falls harder. This is not a book that tries to be “literary” or polished. It’s a vibe. And sometimes that’s exactly what I want a book that burns fast, leaves scorch marks on my feelings, and makes me want to throw it across the room only to pick it back up five minutes later. If you’re in the mood for a hot mess of a romance with a strong female lead and a dark, broody bad boy, My Fault will give you everything. Just go in knowing it’s going to be messy. Review: Missing some book ingredients - The story was good but could have been so much better. The issue of incest was brushed aside and should have been a major factor in them getting together. The reason i say that, isn’t because i’m against step sibling relationships. I, personally, have no problem with it, but it provides a wonderful taboo element, which I would have liked. Having said that, I DID take issue with the age difference. Even though it is only 5 years. the fact that she is only 17 makes it a much bigger deal. I would have preferred she was of legal age or that they were the same age. I felt there was too much dialogue and not enough scene building. There were a few glaring grammatical errors - saying “Noah” when it should have been “Nick” - at least in the ebook. And lastly, the prologue eludes to a future falling out, but it never comes to pass. The book ended with a HEA. Why even have a prologue if it isn’t a part of the book? So strange. The only reason I will be reading book 2 is because I know the plot. If I wasn’t aware there was more to the story, I would have believed it a stand-alone.

Returned
Great book and I was so excited for this book but I'm nit picky about the condition of my book. I would like it to be near pristine and this one had some -not so great stories.

A Fun and Engaging Read!
"My Fault" was such an enjoyable read! The story pulled me in right from the beginning with its witty humor, relatable characters, and emotional depth. The chemistry between the main characters is undeniable, and the plot has just the right amount of twists and turns to keep things interesting. It’s a perfect balance of romance and real-life struggles, making it feel both heartwarming and authentic. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a feel-good book with a bit of drama and a lot of heart!

Great Book, Great series!
Great book! I had watched Culpa Mia way before reading the book and thought the movie was decent. After reading this book I have a whole new appreciation. I do appreciate how they toned down Nicks terrible behavior in the movie, but I did really enjoy all the background information and seeing how hard it was for him to let Noah in and love her. I also greatly enjoyed comparing the book to the movie in my head as it played out, seeing what was left in, what didn’t make it and what changed. It was also helpful having a good idea of what the characters genuinely looked like. So I highly recommend watching the movie first then reading the book. Great book, great series!! I read all 3 in the span of 6 days, could barely put them down.

Both the movie and the book are good!
I first encountered My Fault from the movie (on Prime) and since it was soo good, I had the read the original. I enjoyed this book, but there were times where I trudged through certain sections, unlike the movie that is full of action, the book had a lot of slower moving parts. However, I absolutely feel in love with the character's more once I started the book, I was able to get a better understanding of Noah's trauma, and a better view of Nick's way of thinking. Nick definitely fell first in this, and I found him to be so mature, sweet, and VERY overprotective- naturally those are all very green flags for me lol. I understood Noah better from the book, but I enjoyed her movie adaptation better - she had more spunk and funny moments than in the book. This book is a stepsibling, taboo romance. Noah's mother went on a cruise and met Nick's father, they instantly fell in love and got married shortly after. Noah doesn't meet Nick nor her new stepfather until she is forced to leave her home, friends, and boyfriend back in Canada and move to Los Angles, there she is thrusted into the life of a millionaire and all of that next level drama that comes with it. There is car racing, drugs, and wild teens thriving off their parent's money. ⭐Stepsibling romance ⭐Millionaire ⭐Enemies to lovers ⭐Book to movie adaptation ⭐Series

Okay, my new thing lately has been binging the show/movie and promptly running to dive into the books... kind of backwards, but I am livinggggg. I loved this book – and, being the visual person that I am, watching the moves first just helped with the picture in my head. I can’t wait to dive into the next two books!! My Fault, if you guys haven’t seen or read yet, follows Noah Morgan moving across the country with her mom into her new step family’s home- where she meets her new step brother, Nick, for the first-time. I think my title says it all! I am a fan of wattpad/wattpad style romances and this one is no different. I request the audience to take this book as a fantasy story and not judge it to reality. I just want all book loving audiences to read the book first before watching the movie. Also, I gifted this to my cousin sisters and I guess they will too enjoy it as much as I have.
