Accuracy You Can TrustโVerified Against Pro Lab Tests!
If you own a salt pool, you know the frustration of trying to reconcile what your salt cell says versus what a test strip shows. I bought this Hofun digital meter to help dial in a new Hayward salt cell, and it has been a total game-changer for my maintenance routine. โPro-Level Accuracy: The biggest win? I tested this meter against multiple other readers and even took a water sample to Leslieโs Pool Supplies for a professional lab test. This Hofun meter was spot-on right out of the box. While it comes with calibration materials, I didn't even need themโit was highly accurate from the first dip. โPerformance Highlights: โInstant Results: No more "color-matching" strips or waiting for drops to react. You get a clear digital readout in seconds. โSalt Cell Setup: It was instrumental in getting my new T-15 cell up and running. It gave me the confidence to know my salinity was perfect before I fired up the system. โEasy to Use: The interface is simple, and the build feels solid enough to live in a pool kit. โVerdict: If youโre tired of the guesswork and want a reliable tool that matches the pros, this is it. Itโs the easiest way to keep your salt levels and pH in the "green zone" without the headache.

Great, easy to use tool for salt level
Great salt level tester. Easy to use and understand. A critical piece to any salt pool owner and relatively inexpensive. I have not attempted to use the PH tester.

Works as described and matched my Pool Service Person's salinity meter
Works as described. It matched my Pool Service Person's salinity meter. I like that it is multi-function, but I mainly bought it for checking my pool's salinity level. I previously was using salt test strips (AquaChek). Those were unreliable and costly over time. Plus they have an expiration date. This doesn't tester have an expiration date and will pay for itself over time. If it does get out of calibration they include calibration medium to reset it.

Ours wasnt accurate but excellent customer service
While we thought the salt readings were accurate, we took our pool water for full comprehensive tests at a store, over several weeks, and this reader was never accurate (read salt at 3500 when it was really 2900). We tried to calibrate it, but the calibration wouldn't work: we couldnt adjust it and it would just default to ms/cm, but not actually change. For most saying it's accurate, I believe they just read the device and have no other professional comparison. However, we may have also just gotten one that wasnt working properly. I was outside my return window, but the customer service was great at helping me. Rated a 4-star for the customer service reaching out and trying to make things right.

Accurate and easier for testing
Accurate so far and to make sure it works correctly we took the same water to the pool place and they agreed it was correct. Much better than doing the different drops and trying to match the colors. Very easy to use and durable.

Badly inaccurate salt numbers
You have a saltwater pool, so you buy this meter to make your life easier. Welcome to my dead generating cell! This meter read 2920, so I added the small amount of salt to bring it up to 3190. The salt controller wont generate and says to check salt. I tested with some expired salt test strips, 4000! Order a new chemical kit to test by titration, 4000! Now I will drain off a LARGE ount of water to fix the salt. Hopefully my generating cell has not been damaged. Skip this meter and buy the liquid titration test kit with the model number 1 7 6 6.

Does Not Differentiate Between TDS and Sodium level.
Although it states that is can be used as a "pool salt" meter, it actually is just a TDS meter when used to measure "salt". So it measures all ions in the water, not just sodium. For salt water pools, it's essential to know the Sodium level, not the TDS level. What I am doing is measuring the TDS of untreated tapwater which I used to fill the pool with, and then the total TDS of the pool water with Sodium added. Then subtract the lower value from the higher value to estimate my Sodium levels in my pool.

Very accurate for ph
I have been using this to test the ph in my hot tub for a month now. It is extremely accurate (comparing to two different test strips) and it is extremely easy to use. I would not hesitate in buying this.

Easy to use
Results for salt ppm very close to expensive test strips and very close to my pool chlorinator +/- 350ppm. A must have if you own a salt water pool. This would have saved me having to spend an extra $500 in water after I raised my salt level to just over 6000ppm thinking that my aging salt cell was reading correctly. My salt cell showed 2200ppm and I trusted it and added more salt...mistake. I had to remove 8000 gallons of salt water and replace it with fresh clean water to bring the pool down to 4000ppm so my chlorinator would come on and do its thing. I should have purchased this unit sooner. I've since replaced my aging salt cell with a new one and it reads within +/- 350ppm of this unit so everything is finally back on track.
