Can this be placed directly into the satellite box

The pupose of this amplifier is to increase the signal level for long cable lenghts (50 m and more). Therefore it shall be placed close to the satellite dish (but indoors / weather protected).

Just had this delivered, check everything, I've lost most of channels working before with no signal, what could be wrong?

I have 4 of these and they all do an excellent job. I would have though that it is unlikely that the device its self is faulty, although it's not impossible of course. Maybe you have installed it the wrong way round or in the wrong place. Or you have another fault such as a bad F type connector fitting/wiring - or a short circuit/water ingress on your coaxial cable from the dish. I suggest you remove the device to get back to your original configuration, see if it works, and go from there.

Broadband refers to the wide range of frequency the amp can handle ie broad as opposed to narrow
