Should the shaft be straight? I bought this for my son who is left handed - the shaft bends to the right before it gets to the putter head.

Yes! the shaft should not have any side bend to either side. The club head should be centered on the shaft. If there is a bend, this would be a defect.

How compact is this to travel with? Cannot find collapsed dimensions...
