A Great Intro to Financial Basics for Teens โ Simple and Practical
I picked up Money Skills for Teens for my teenager, hoping to give them a solid foundation in real-world money managementโand overall, it's a great starting point. Pros: Clear and easy to understand: The book breaks down financial concepts like budgeting, saving, credit, and taxes in a way thatโs super accessible for teens. Relevant examples: Uses real-life situations teens can relate to, like earning from part-time jobs, spending wisely, and saving for big goals. Encourages smart habits: Emphasizes the importance of saving early, understanding needs vs. wants, and being mindful with money. Good conversation starter: Helped open up some great talks at home about money, responsibility, and planning for the future. Cons: Basic overview: Itโs more of a broad introduction than an in-depth guide. Great for beginners, but older teens or financially-savvy readers might find it too simple. Could use more visuals: Charts, diagrams, or budgeting templates wouldโve made it even more engaging. Overall, this is a solid, no-nonsense guide for teens who are just starting to learn about personal finance. Great gift for a high schooler or anyone new to money management.

Good for a 15yr old
Bought for my 15 year old niece. I work in financial services and was looking for something that had some investing basics. This fit the bill and she is pleased to have learned about compound interest, the 8th wonder of the world!

Easy to read but US content
An easy to read book but be aware it is US-based so refers to โchecking accountโ and examples are in USD. Some references are also US specific (taxation and Medicare). Having said that, the concepts are generic and explained clearly.

Great life skills for anyone
This comprehensive guide with a workbook built inside, is about money skills that every teen needs to push them forward into life. Each section within the chapters is easy to read and understand with ease as well written so any young person can learn to apply to their life as they reach adulthood. The author goes into life skills with money from opening up an bank account to paying your bills, skills that schools donโt really teach our teens. I wish I had a book like this when I was a teen, it may have helped me to become a better young adult. I recommend this book to anyone who will need those life skills to provide what they need for the future.
