couldn’t put this book down! amazing
woah, this book is DARK! please check trigger warnings before reading. i couldn’t work out if i thought cole was hot or creepy.. i’m still undecided - he is trouble though, and rich (he gives me vaughn spencer vibes from angry god by lj shen!). i absolutely adore mara, god she’s just so strong willed, i could not survive what she went through!! they both have issues, like.. deep rooted issues, they’re perfect for each other, as in they balance each other. the tension between them😮💨 he’s controlling, manipulative, intense & she’s defiant, the back and forth with these two is great you just know the spice is gonna be SO SPICY🔥🌶 cole is so obsessed with thinking and making mara say that she’s his, he doesn’t even realise that he is just as much hers too🙊 if anything, he was hers way before she was his🥲 OMG I JUST LOVE THEM! cole is so cold and inhumane with everyone else, but with mara he’s totally different, he’s honest and seems like he can finally relax and actually be himself, who he wants to be. cole takes the meaning of “i’d kill for you” quite literally😮💨🥲 it gives me artistic, murderous, bonnie and clyde kinda vibes! it ends on a cliffhanger but that’s expected as it’s a duet! so excited to start there is no devil!!! jumping straight into the next book book🤩

finally ticking my tbr shelf off one by one…
From reading the blurb itself it sucks you in. The plot is good and is addicting because it’s like you need to see what happens and even tho I guessed a little of it, it still surprised me. The MC’s I liked. The pictures of the art they were talking about were nice to see but then always the image of them in the scene that was being described I found I loved them. There were spicy scenes but not as much as I would’ve thought and would’ve liked tbh i was a little disappointed with that. The little spice that was in it was okay. Cole, male mc. Yes he’s a stalker and a killer but there’s just something about him something addicting I fell in love with him more within each chapter. His art that was described I found that I would’ve loved to see them irl. Mara, female mc.The way her art was described I don’t think I would’ve liked it tbh. I found that she thought too much of herself, she would act like a fragile girl one second and then the next she was trying to act tough. Little things started to annoy me and within the last few chapters i found myself rolling my eyes constantly with her. With everything I’ve said I did like this book but just the last few chapters I started to get irritated and tired of it. I am gonna read the next book but I’m not sure if I’ll finish it. 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It wasn’t the best. wasn’t the worst either
Now I love serial killer romance tropes. I actually live for them. Zade in Haunting Adeline. Lana in the Mindfcuk series. Black sheep (though I’ve not read that yet.) so I had to get on this one knowing Cole was also very handy with unaliving people. However, I feel like something was missing. It was short and sweet and I enjoyed that. But I wasn’t as engaged with these characters and the story as I have been with other authors and similar plot lines. However, I didn’t necessarily hate it and I think I will probably enjoy the sequel more now that Mara knows about Cole and they seem to be getting together. And I’m very intrigued on how they will deal with Shaw. One issue I have is why is Cole described as having black hair but the dude on the cover has dirty blonde??? Slight overlook perhaps. Also, Mara needs to get some respect. You’ve fallen and screwed a guy that literally stepped over you and walked away while you were bleeding to death in the street. But hey girl, you go get your red flag and enjoy him.

Just became one of my top 10 all time faves!
Every single minute of my evening has been spent binge reading There Are No Saints by Sophie Lark and I regret not one second of it. The chokehold this book has over me.. Lord.. it's me again 🙏 I became completely captivated by the stark contrast in character tones with each POV switch. Cole is so cold, calculated, and psychopathic it's jarring meanwhile Mara is a tornado of emotions just trying to survive from one day to the next. This book is heavy on the trigger warnings, and definitely is not one to dive into blindly if you are someone with triggers, but I found it to be genuinely stunning. It's written so well. The trauma healing, the character growth, the plot structure, all of it gives the triggers woven in true purpose. I ran to the kindle store to grab There Is No Devil, book 2 in the Sinners Duet, because there's no frickin way I can wait until January for Amazon to deliver the paperback copy I ordered 🤣 This is 100% in my top 10 reads for 2021. I've read 188 books this year, the majority of which have been incredible, but this one will live rent free in my head.

Now that is more like it!
That is dark romance! I will start by saying although I like some of Sophie Lark’s books, this felt on another level. I’ve read some of the brutal birthright and they were more fun in my opinion, but lacked the emotional complexity. But this, was truly dark and I loved it! This had all the best tropes and themes: - Serial killer MMC - Stalking - Kidnapping - Plenty of emotional trauma - A rival serial killer - All the possessive vibes - Touch her and die - I don’t know whether to kill her or f*** her What a rollercoaster. Plus I loved the backdrop of the world of artists, and the mentor/mentee dynamic! Did I stay up until 3am reading? Yes! Am I going to do the same with the next book? Hell yes! Triggers to be aware of: Childhood abuse; Non con body modification; kidnapping and assault; and plenty of murder, obvs.

Absolutely devoured this!!
There was a time when I speed read through many books and this was one of them. While I read a lot, I feel like I didn't get to appreciate the books I've read. Rereading this made me see that clearly. I loved this story so far, the Angst, the emotion and the tension was just right. Mara said some things that really resignated with me, we often see little traits in Fmc that we can connect too but with her I saw a lot. I love her spirit that one revenge scene uff.. It was so hot.. 🥵 Cole.. Very good with stalking and the perfect obsessive MMC for this story.. Can't wait to see his growth in book 2 Perfect amount of tension and spice and when the spice hits its soo goood.. I was blushing quiet a few times, ngl.. Will jump directly into the second book, wish me luck and pick this book up yourself if you haven't read it yet. 🤗

I loved them
I'm a newer reader of Sophie. I've only read brutal Prince before. This was a great read. Very easy to follow and I'm quite the fan of her writing style, it didn't drag on as some do. It was short, though it ridiculously took me like 4 days to finish. To be honest, I've been in a little depressive episode, not too bad clearly, since I can read but enough to have me taking to many naps and reading breaks! But this book really pulled me in and had me forgetting about myself. I got to be Mara and Cole. I had a situationship with a Cole that dragged on and reading his name over and over was weird till I wasn't picturing him for it anymore lol. The relationship was weirdly sweet, and it built up beautifully. Mara is wonderful, I love a little stubbornness in my women, makes me feel seen. I'm definitely a Lark Fan now. Brutal Prince was awesome but I fell into reading more sweet stories till this year and I can't wait to devour a few more of her books from my TBR

Idk if this stuff should be romanticised but I read it anyway
I mean….it was definitely dark…..bit of a messed up romance which I should’ve expected with that blurb… Took “he’s nice to me and mean to everyone else” to a WHOLE other level. “He murders people and sort of wants to murder me but I’m too intriguing for him to do so” is more like it 😀

KUDOS TO THE AUTOR FOR SUCH A WELL WRITTEN PROVOCATIVE STORY
This book got me out of a massive book slump. It's one of my first 5 stars reads of the year. It kept me hooked from the very beginnig even though I'm not usually a fan of slow burn, but it was perfect here. So happy I found this duet, now on to the next one...

4,5 amato

Did I already mention that it has an EXCITING plot twist as well?
It was my first book by this author and I binged it within a day. With a total of 4.5🌟 out of 5, it's a definite recommended book for me! Unlike mc or mafia romances, we don't enter a whole new crew or family when going through this book. To narrow down your focus on the FMC and MMC is a risky task of itself; since there aren't really any noteworthy sidecharacters, the couple has got to be interesting enough to pull a reader to the last page. And boy did I throw myself towards the last page!🖤 The MMC Cole has the mind of a sociopath and a killer, he is unapologetically selfish and cruel. And GAWD I loved it😍 The FMC Mara is a survivor, a fighter, intelligent, and the way she is portrayed makes it understandable that cole stalks her. Now I'm also intrigued, and want to see her creative mind come to life when she paints👩🎨but I also want to see her do the mundane tasks of living. Dressing, washing, running (because she is always late, #soultwin 😂😘). Thank you Sophie Lark for making me a fellow creeper 👀😅 This book is dark in the sense that it deals with mental health issues due to Mara's traumatizing past. But for me mostly because there is so much horrendous violence and death going on☠ It's so scary I don't want to read it, but I also can't put it down 😂 Cole and Mara really come together organically and the spice is 🔥*faints*🔥 Did I already mention that it has an EXCITING plot twist as well? No? Well, here you go 😉 If you like dark romance, you've got to check it out!👀

that's... WOW
Did i lose an entire night of sleep just to read this book? Yes. Was it worth it? YES. It was amazing in every aspect but i have to say that this is the first time I've read a duet that doesn't end with a cliffhanger and it was beautifully done. I can already see myself binge reading every single Sophie Lark's books.
