Mix with water, I would start with 1/4 tsp of powder all depends how red you want your food.

Is this flavourless as I just used one that’s very salty

As far as I'm aware there is no taste, I use it for curry marinade so it's mixed with lots of spices I very rarely use salt so I think I would notice it if was salty.

I have only used this to colour Onions pickle. And just a pinch turns it Red as the packet.

Yes, use small amount, I used it for s&s sauce, and tikka chicken, its very potent
