Does this have to be fitted to a wall or can you remove the wall fixing from the bin for it to be freestanding?

Hi Rie, you can do either with the bin. I understand the back can be removed for  freestanding but that it will leave a small hole.  I have mine free standing in the bathroom with the wall fitting intact. It is ideal for a small bin.

Question 2

Is the finish described as silver a shiny or brushed finish? Confused as there is s chrome finish & Matt steel so unsure what the silver is

Sorry I can't answer this question entirely - I can only advise to get in touch direct with the provider if you can - I tried to buy a 3l mint green one and got sent a white one which I sent back. With some providers even if they tell you you will get one type of finish, you can't be sure exactly what you are getting until it turns up. I can only advise that returns through buying from Amazon direct are pretty straight forward, but from shops that use Amazon to sell their products, if you complain that the finish is not right, they can often argue that you are responsible for the returns postage and may argue about refunding you. As for the choice of finishes, I bought two 60 litre Brabantia - one in polished silver and one brushed steel - personally the polished shiny silver shows up dirt and smudge marks and any scratches much more than the more matt brushed steel finish, so I would recommend the brushed silver if you are pondering choice. I can't advise about other finishes...

Can the attachment bracket at the back be removed? I don’t want to hang it from the wall

It does not come attached so you can have it either free standing or on the wall.

Can it be attached without screws?

Can’t really remember. We have had ours for several years. Don’t think it can be fixed without screws even if it had a fixing plate provided.
