Times are tough for David Miller, a journalist for a second rate financial magazine who hates his boss, is tired of supporting his girlfriend's partying lifestyle, and recently lost his sister to cancer. But things are about to get much worse. When he loses his wallet in a neighborhood bar, he finds himself being blackmailed by junkies, lying to his family and friends, and stumbling into a crime that may cost him his life. Twisted Siblings
I really enjoyed this novel. I read it in just two sittings because it was so entertaining. Cynical and hilarious. Morose and compelling. If you have good taste, you will enjoy this book.

"He who fights with monsters..."
Starr’s Twisted City simply grabs you and doesn’t let go as it carries you along and somehow gets you to sympathize with the most unsympathetic characters you’ve come across in a while. There’s plenty for them to deal with -- especially the main character, David Miller, who seems to have a fairly decent life by most standards until he has more than he can handle -- in a forbidding world suddenly full of murder and mayhem. I knew that Twisted City was going to be pretty far outside my comfort zone. But for me it turned out to be a ride worth taking. Great twists, scenes of blood-curdling intensity, and effective shocks keep coming in Starr’s vision of an urban hell. Tough, gritty, and unputdownable until its punch-in-the-gut ending. You know that expression about the light at the end of the tunnel? Well, for David Miller it’s a train and it’s coming straight at him. Will he wait until it’s too late to make his move? But no spoilers here -- I recommend you find out for yourself.

Three Stars
Worth reading, but not as riveting as Savage Lane.

Jason Starr writes the best neo-noir out there
Jason Starr writes the best neo-noir out there. I actually dont like it when he coloborates with other writers on a project, he is so good solo. My only complaint is that I need for him to write more books as I have read every noir title he has written.
