Copper Sulfate Small Crystals 50lb Bag

Been battling filamentous algae and Chara in my 1/2 acre pond for a few years now. Nothing that the pond expert websites sell would touch it, yet alone control it. Decided to try the copper sulfate crystals and I'm amazed. Had zero floating algae blooms this year. Chara still made an attempt to grow, but after a few applications of this, I think it's under control. I have one specific shoreline where it grows out of control. Chara would turn brown and start floating to the surface. Between this product, pond bacteria, and pond dye, I think I'll be able to manage the pond with less money and a lot less of my time raking out algae! I distributed the copper sulfate by hand. Wearing gloves and mask, I could take a small handful and throw it out like skipping a rock. Works good and evenly distributes it. Tried the hand crank spreader, but it just has issues with jagged edges of the small crystals. Wasn't sure of exactly how much to apply. Did one shoreline at a time with a week in between. Bought two, 50# bags and have about 25# left. No fish have died from it, so i think I'm good.

excellant product. have used it for seveal yrs. appox 20 lb on a 1/2 acre pond and killed all on the alge.. small size is easier to apply. just toss out from edges of pond..

I use copper sulfate to keep the tree roots from growing through my sewer pipes, and I've had great success.

Great product for controlling vegitation growth in my pond. Recommended!

Work great I live on an island , tree roots would love to get into septic but I add 5lbs twice a year and have no problems septic tank free of roots

Used it to destroy roots in outside drain.
