Eufy is the way to go
I have bought and returned multiple systems because they seem great on paper, but then frustrated with user interface, recharging batteries, subscriptions, connectivity etc. the Eufy system was so impressive and satisfying for me. The dual camera and tracking has been awesome with few false alarms and good quick notifications. I bought just the camera and quickly bought another for the back door. I also added the homemade so I have 24/7 recording to all the cameras with no subscription needed at all. The user interface is awesome with good features and easy to use settings. Can easily recognize and filter out my dogs with very few false alarms. Tracks movement well and does recognize faces once it learned over time. I would give it 5 stars for video quality tracking and zoom. No subscription and easy integration with eufy system. Easy mobile app and the 24/7 recording gives me worry free piece of mind to go back and look at anything over the time period your HD size can hold. I was surprised at how much my 1 TB hard drive could hold with two cameras. I can go back and look at live non event recordings from 2 months ago. And have events from the beginning still saved. And that’s without having to manage and go back to save things. Super happy and I will stay with Eufy system because of ease of use and simplicity to add more as I go.

By far the best
As a tech enthusiast, having tried Blink, Arlo, Lorex and even Tuya camera systems, I wanted to try the S380Home base 3 as many fellow tech bloggers had something noteworthy to mention about it. The home base 3 is cute and has a sturdy build. I got the S380 Home base3 with s220 video doorbell. Adding homebase to app was a breeze. Pairing the video door bell to home base was just a few clicks and flawless. Recorded video’s were of very high quality. Unlike many others who provide local storage, Eufy home base3 stored video’s can be remotely viewed without buffering or loading delays which I thought was amazing. The homebase 3 works with Ethernet (recommended) but once paired, if Ethernet connection fails, device will automatically switch to WIFI! What is even more amazing is Eufy Homebase 3’s Ai functionality. It’s truly Ai! Its human identification is near perfect and am yet to find a wrong identification. What is even more remarkable is that it has a built in Ai learning algorithms and it keeps asking the user to verify if it detected the humans correctly thereby fine tuning its Ai capability. The app also has built in video search history based on identified persons which is a very helpful feature. For example, if i want to know how many times ‘xyc’ was detected to my camera, the app will provide a detailed history with related videos. Very important feature. I would have liked if eufy human detection could trigger an push notification or an action to Alexa or google if a known (identfied) person of choice or family member is detected. This is not difficult for eufy engineers to achieve considering the advanced Ai detection that is already incorporated to home base3. Its just that this kind of notifications or automatic responses can be activated, the advantage will be un measurable!! Eufy cameras responds to Amazon Alexa and Google home commands very well. Response time to load a video is also good. However, an important feature, motion alerts on Amazon Alexa and google home is not working. Alexa app shows a tab for motion alerts but it seems eufy servers don't push these alerts to amazon and google. This is a major flaw on eufy’s part which I hope they will correct very soon. The upgrade to additional storage was very easy and a breeze to format and get the ssd to start recording. Overall, it’s a very good product although a little costly but still a worthwhile long term investment. I am planning on getting down the eufy e340 wired flood light camera which allows 24x7 recording of which I will write a separate review once done. I will continue to update this review with new developments.

Outstanding product.
It took a while to get it set up the way I wanted so that it worked with both my phone and my iPad. It took them a while and several emails back-and-forth, but they did get it working. They were very persistent, just some frustration on my part because I had to wait for them for emails. The system itself works great now that it’s set up. The video is very clear, and the AI tracking is excellent. I highly recommend this product.

Detrimental, unacceptable, returned
This was purchased as an upgrade for our home network cameras based on the capabilities advertised on the Eufy website. We use MANY Eufy cams throughout our home and property for surveillance and the additional AI recognition capabilities it offered along with extra video storage when connected to cameras was something we were interested in. Unfortunately there is scant information available on how the product actually works with NO comprehensive manual available from Eufy. Installing a storage drive and setting up the HomeBase was fairly simple and quick. The Eufy app offers a simple interface when you view the cameras that allows you to connect it to the HomeBase that you have added to your home. After adding some of the cameras to the HomeBase we started to have network issues and unavailable cameras. Progressing through the process of adding cameras, we discovered more about how the system works and the severe limitations of the HomeBase system: 1. When connected to a HomeBase all cameras that were setup and shared with other household users are removed and added as if they were new necessitating shared access to be setup again. 2. HomeBase connected cameras directly to itself which is not something explained and it severely limits the range, reported to be around 30 feet although the signal reached a bit further than that for us. Cameras further away that you attempt to connect to HomeBase will cease to work and remove themselves from the home network requiring manual setup again. Using the network bridge option to keep cameras connected in their original locations failed to provide any reliable camera function. 3. The HomeBase created severe network interference even when only connected to a handful of inside cameras directly. It forced our outdoor wired solocams offline, forced the solar cameras offline as well. Our streaming TVs suddenly kept buffering and disconnecting along with various smart home devices suddenly facing disconnect issues only while using the HomeBase. After hours of frustration I pulled the plug on the HomeBase, immediately the cameras not connected to it, along with the rest of the devices in our home returned to working perfectly. 4. The cameras that were used with the HomeBase cannot be uncoupled normally from it. They must be re-setup again manually. Once done those worked again normally. As a network engineer with over 25 years experience this is one of the least reliable and poorly documented products on the market. It is unsuitable for any use outside a tiny apartment. The programming for adding and disconnecting cameras to HomeBase is terrible and the detrimental impact to the connected network is unacceptable. We were forced to return ours. The severe limitations need to be acknowledged in the product's specs.

Best system for the normal user
I am not an expert so a lot of what I have heard from the experts about the video lag has not affected me. I have had several systems all of which I have ended up hating with a passion. I hated Arlo for their setup and re-setup procedures. I had to reset this system so many times I was about to explode. I was told by Arlo that the new system out was much better, so I tried a couple cameras and NOPE piece of crap, then they had the direct to the cloud connection, same issues. Every time the system lost synch, I had to reset it, and I could not do it without the help of the technicians. Thankfully for me, I was able to sell all the cameras for about a $100 loss only. Ring, yup it rang me batty enough said, there were a couple others that were just as bad as the rest I was lucky enough to have purchased them, tested them and sent them back for a full refund. Due to medical issues my friends and family wanted me to install cameras in my house in the event that I had another issue where I passed out, got hurt and couldn't get up again. This system I decided to try and send back if it was bad and I found the cameras and everything on refurbished list, so I saved a good deal of money. So, I got the cameras first and they were delivered next day. I went to set up the base station and followed the guide on the app and it was user friendly, a couple things I did have to try to decipher but that was my own fault. I had 3 cameras and a base station wired and running in under 2 hours. Would have been faster but the cameras and base station had their own separate updates. So far, I love it, I love the cameras, and I love the doorbell now as well. I plan to continue to add to the system.

Home Security with local storage or cloud...your choice
We always wanted a security camera and Eufy's Homebase allows you to keep your data local instead of having it in the cloud and paying for a subscription. They do offer cloud based if you want that, I bought a larger hard drive and keep over a month of live video at a time, once the storage fills up, it overwrites the oldest content first. First in, First out. The connectivity to the camera works well

Love it so far
I’m very happy with the product so far I’ve installed a couple cameras attached to the home base three but time will tell so I’m not up for giving a true review just yet, but I will say that the installation was incredibly easy Con’s: When I open up the app, I don’t see a live view of all the cameras. It just shows a screenshot of the last time I opened the camera.
