A gift with lots of interesting verses for children.

Gave me a lot and it was fun and funny

We used this book in the car, to keep my son entertained on a long journey. It also came out on holiday when we were at the dinner table or in the hotel room. We’ve even used it as a reason to switch the telly off at Home and for him to test us! Overall he likes this book, it’s great for dipping in and out of or when killing time. It also does get the child thinking and listening very carefully to what’s been said.

Bought for my 10yo son and he loved it!

I've read maybe half so far (according to Kindle) but as of course up to half the book consists of the Answers I've nearly finished it. Pace yourself as it can be addictive. I did pretty well, and you get better as you go on, once your lateral-thinking braincells have warmed up. Some riddles aren't worded well enough for there to be only one answer. It's fundamental in quizzes, cryptic crosswords, riddles and suchlike that there should be no ambiguities and, as per Afrit's Law "You need not mean what you say, but you must say what you mean." So far I've noticed 30 riddles where 10 need a minor tweak, 20 need a major tweak; that's a high percentage out of the 100 riddles advertised. Also there are repeats, so it's not really 100 riddles :-) Two riddles go to the wrong answer, so far no.72 and one in the 100s, there may be more - the proof-reading/editing wasn't good enough. I like having it on Kindle as you merely click the Answer link, then the Return to the Question link. A few riddles are more basic wordplay jokes e.g. a favourite from my youth decades ago that I loved seeing again "What orange and sounds like a parrot?" And one or two should be in a different section e.g. in more difficult rather than easy and vice versa. Publisher and author/compiler: please edit and issue a corrected version AND make sure you edit thoroughly before publishing.

We keep this book in the car and it makes long journeys feel much shorter. Great way to encourage my young son to read as he loves to read out the riddles for us to guess. I think it’s also been good for his brain development in terms of problem-solving and lateral thinking. I’m sure it will help him think about crossword solving when he’s a bit older. Lovely little book and good to get for somebody who is either at the age of being read to or able to read for themselves. It’s also a good one to send as a gift if you don’t know what somebody Is into reading as I would say this is probably has broad appeal for boys and girls.

Excellent riddle book, for big & small. Great to spend some time in family or with friends

Nephew enjoyed the riddles. He said some were difficult but had fun.
