Thomas Balinger Harmonica Songbook Shanties & Songs of the Sea A collection of shanties and songs of the sea, arranged for easy harmonica (10-channel diatonic harp, aka Blues Harp) in C. Youโll find the โclassicsโ like Banks of Sacramento, Good night, ladies or What shall we do with the drunken sailor , but youโll also encounter songs not as common and maybe even some you might never have heard before. The songs have been transposed and arranged for easy playing โ you can play all of them without having to master advanced playing techniques like bending and overblowing first. Whether youโre a complete beginner or have been playing for some time: these songs you can play right away. All songs feature additional harmonica tablature . This system of graphical notation tells you exactly what to play, making it ideally suited for beginners and players who donโt read standard notation. Plus chord symbols and guitar chord diagrams. Whiskey Johnny Review: Good songbook - Very easy book to learn the sea shanties of olden days, pleased with the purchase Review: Value for money but marred by poor proofreading. - There is a good variety of songs, some well-known, others less so. The selection of songs mirrors the collection of sea songs for ukulele, so you can practise both instruments on the same song. Finally, the collection is not expensive (Iโve paid twice as much for other books). What mars this book โthough is poor proof-reading. For example, each line in the song โBully in the Alleyโ is shown as ending in the word โal.โ It should be โnowโ - thereโs no such word as โalโ in English. More importantly, the page numbers shown on the contents page bear no relation to where in the book the songs actually appear. I would guess someone has simply printed out the Kindle version without checking the pagination. Either that or he/she has been hitting the grog.

This book was just what my teenage son was looking for. Great selection of songs. Easy to read and play along.

super musique "marin"
Morceau facile ร jouer en 1รจre position. Perso, j'utilise un harmo en G car plus grave que le C et plus facile dans les trous les plus aigus

What do we do with a drunken sailor?
Overall I'm very satisfied. A few things of note... this also comes with guitar chords and such, the page numbers are wrong in the table of contents, and I like it anyway!

Who organized this book?
Three stars. The songs and tabs are easy to read and the inclusion of all the song stanzas is nice. The guitar chords are a pleasant addition that adds value and doesn't distract from the function of the book. However, the table of contents numbers do not match the actual page numbers for the songs. It seems that there is an 8 page difference between the two. It wouldn't make me that irritated if the songs were at least placed in the book in alphabetical order, but they are not. The order seems almost random. So I have to look at the page number in the ToC and subtract 8 to find the song I'm looking for, or flip through the book until I find the song title. Also, "The Flying Durchman"? Really? You got it right on the actual song page, but reading through the Contents, I paused for a sec and wondered if it was intentional copyright dodging, or just a typo. I'm guessing typo, but it's also listed as such in the product description.
