Cheaper than all there others and does the job

Much cheaper than alternatives and works well. It is pure white so looks cleaner than the pictures.Setting the humidity and timer is a bit finicky to get right but I ly something you have to do once.It comes with a shallow surface mounted back box with holes in the sides ideal for if your wires are in trunking. It does fit a standard 1 gang back box though if your wires are in the wall making the installation tidier and a little bit shallower. If I had one complaint it's that the timer is for the switch only and not the humidistat. So the humidistat turns the fan on then when it drops the below humidity it stops immediately but the actual humidity is only just below the threshold as the air moves the fan comes on and off until the humidity drops further

Read this for wiring information.

Good unit and half the price of the Manrose one. The wiring instructions can be a bit confusing so I placed it on a table and used a volt meter to work out how to wire it. The left terminals are the feed in L SL N and you only need a switched live coming from the bathroom light switch if you want to use the timer. FL and FN go to the fan. If the fan already has a permanent feed as in my case and you just want to send a voltage to it telling it to switch on, then take a live out (FN) and send it to the fan. I would have expected FL to be the switched live out, but the meter showed 240v across the neutral in (N) and FN oddly, but it works. Hope this helps!

Works well

Works well solved my humidity problem.Had problems with connections at first as the wiring diagram doesn’t correspond to the marked connections on the unit.

Didn't work for me.

Replaced a faulty Manrose unit. Not working, fan ran when set to lowest humidity, but when adjusted to the set point just clicked on and off in quick succession, so the fan would not get up to speed. Now fan will not run at all. Reviews and pictures seem to be for another version also.

Large clunky and not impressive with build quality

It seems to work, safe to operate. Just 3 stars for decent attempt but lack of creativity and ignoring users needs. I may accept it after doing serious refurb to it and adding whatever is missing. Why such a big clunker of the enclosure? In that size of the box I would expect added fuse holder, a disconnect pull switch at the output, and there still would be space for more, like much needed stud for connecting earth wires together. Most of all, this needs properly built pots, as what it is now is very flimsy, easy to turn over the end of the scale and anyways there is no chance to know what is the setting by looking at the knob.

Cheaper alternative to Manrose Version. Larger but does the job

The version I received is no longer named Swiftair, rather it has a Vents logo on it, though physically there is no difference. The unit is larger than the Manrose version, but you have to pay more for theirs.Installation was straightforward and is simple enough for those with knowledge of UK wiring regs. The instructions do not really guide you through the adjustments necessary to make it activate the extractor when the humidity gets too much, but after a couple of days adjusting I am happy that it is set how it needs to be.I'd recommend this unit for anyone looking at setting up a humidity triggered extractor fan.

Works well - controls are not calibrated

This works well. As others have said the fan will start on humid days if you leave the control at the lower end. The timer and humidity trip controls are not calibrated. I have calibrated mine - see attached photo. With the control set at the position in the photo it does not normally come on, but will start automatically as soon as the shower is used. I have also installed a manual start button to run the fan without turning the bathroom light on. Note that the push button has two switches in it - one (NC) disconnects the light while the other (NO) provides the switched live into the controller - this makes sure the light does not come on when pushing the button.

Good fan controller

I wired this inline with a new axial bathroom extractor fan. The manual is a bit confusing but because it talks about all the possible variations on this model. This one can not be inset into the wall. I just glued it to the tiles in the bathroom above the door. It look very professional and the green led is visible and flashes differently depending on what it is doing. I have had to increase the humidity sensitivity a couple of times when the unit came on because it was raining outside. Overall though it works really well. I like the ability to adjust the over-run feature up to 30 minutes. My only complaint is that its not clear which output is live, it only names them M1 and M2. However I was able to deduce it by comparing them to a ground wire. Also if your are new to UK extractor fans like I am, you need to put a jumper wire in on a switched fan between live and switched live to get the fan to work. Overall this is a much better solution to the problem than a built in humidistat extractor fan as you have easy and detailed control over the running of the fan.
