what is a single pole switch

Dear Customer, A single pole circuit means a switch control one light or one set of lights in a circuit, there is no second or third switches to control the same lights. 3-way circuit means in thie circuit, 2 switches can control the same lights in 2 different locations. Work fine but the switch is very loud compared to the others in the house

These work just fine but I feel they are so much louder than the old switches I replaced. Other than that I haven't had any issues with them. Easy to install.
